Thane: Local police have arrested two women following the discovery of the dead body of a newborn female in a duct of a building located in Maharashtra’s Thane district on Friday according to a police official. The baby probably died after she was thrown in the building duct in the Ambernath, according to the police. New born female dead body was found in the duct area of ground floor of a building in Ambernath West – Thane on Thursday morning.
People at the scene managed to call the police and the police have opened an investigation process in this matter. A woman resident has been interrogated over the issue.
Umesh Patil, a resident of the society, described the shocking discovery: This was painful and all of us were in shock. Shankar Heights is a secured residential community with fully professional occupants and such a thing is impossible. This baby girl was as young as a day old;, or so confirmed a doctor who was a neighbor.
The community is still shocked by what happened. “Sadly, the CCTV cameras in that area are out of order and right now we have no leads. I am cooperating fully with the police and must stress that we have to ensure that the person to blame is booked,” Patil also stated.
Police officials arrived on time, then the dead body of the infant was taken to a government hospital for autopsy. Senior police inspector Balaji Pandhre said, “Baby was found in the ground floor duct area.” We have already launched an investigation and we are trying to establish the particular person. Initial evidence indicates that the baby may have been of unwed mother birth at night.
The police is going through records of deliveries of female patients in the nearby hospital within three weeks of conception, and other tests on most likely suspects. Two of the female tenants of the building were arrested but were released after interrogation.
Inspector Pandhre added, “We are awaiting the hospital’s preliminary report on the cause of death. This is a grave and sensitive case, and we are committed to ensuring justice for the infant.”
Man arrested for drowning 3-year-old niece, in Thane district
A 38-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his sister’s 3-year-old daughter and trying to burn the body in Maharashtra’s Thane district, an official said on Friday, PTI added.
The girl from Ulhasnagar area went astray on November 18 and her mutilated body found partially burnt near bushes by a police station on Thursday Thursday.
Following the technical advice and the human sensual knowledge, police arrested the child’s uncle. The girl was either strangled or choked to death after the accused slapped her for something she did, an official was quoted by PTI.
The accused then tried to burn the body to ashes, said senior inspector Anil Jagtap of the Hill Line police station, the case is under investigation.
Two teenagers killed as third friend missing in lake in Thane district
While two of them were found dead, the third is believed to have been swept away in the water after the boys went into a lake in Thane district of Maharashtra, said the official to PTI on Friday.
The teenagers, in the age group of 13-15, went to the water body in Bhiwandi on Thursday evening to take bath. nevertheless, they started sinking, the official said as quoted by PTI.
Informed by locals, firemen hastened to the area and retrieved the dead bodies of Gulab Ansari and Sahil Sheikh both 13-year- olds, PTI added.
The hunt is on to find the third teenager, said an official from the Bhiwandi Town police station.
