Meghan McCain did not hold back on coming for Meghan Markle after the Duchess of Sussex released the first trailer for her Netflix show.
The cooking / cleaning / gardening / fashion / parenting show-within-a-show is With Love, Meghan, which syncs handy recipes and advice with heartfelt chats featuring friends including Mindy Kaling, Roy Choi and Prince Harry.
Meghan McCain Criticized Meghan Markle’s Netflix Series
Meghan McCain criticized the series as being ‘completely out of touch with the reality.’
“FULL DISCLOSURE… I was a Meghan Markle fan…” McCain said in a posting on X: “I thought she was cool and stylish and refreshing. Like people all over the world my perception shifted when she decided to disrespect the royal family.
Now that she wants to be American again instead of British aristocracy what she seems to forget is Americans want real, raw, uncut. All of this I however even in the trailer describe as highly curated, produced, and out of touch.
“This type of disaster has occurred two days in a row: two terror attacks, major wars, and Americans cannot even afford groceries,” Meghan McCain went on to say. “We are a country in rage, uncertainty and intensity right now,” he said.
This concept is ill advised. What I would have advised her to do is, she needs to do a show on people making special efforts to deliver fresh produce in low income areas or food deserts. Instead of advancing your own self pride do something that would make life easier for people.
This is why the world doesn’t like you, nothing else. Oh, I don’t know, just completely and utterly tone deaf to the moment it felt as though I was missing something fundamental about the world.
Meghan Markle originally debuted the trailer for her Netflix series on Instagram and wrote: I hope you have been waiting for this like I have been dying to share it with you all! Enjoy the show just as I enjoyed coming to work each day to create it.
Happy new year to all of you fine folks out there. All the gratitude goes to our incredible crew and the Netflix crew. More than grateful for all the love — and laughter!”
With Michael Steed directing “With Love, Meghan,” the show has eight episodes, each of which is thirty-three minutes long; it is produced by Archewell Productions as well as the IPC, the daughter company of Sony Pictures Television.
Meghan Markle’s New Netflix Series
The show’s official plot description from Netflix reads: “This groundbreaking series which is created by Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is challenging the concepts of the type of lifestyle shows that inform and educate while also offering the knowing look and the supportive chat with friends, both, new and unknown.”
It offers helpful application ideas from Meghan Markle with less focus on accomplishments and more on fun, alongside pointing out how simple it is to produce something lovely out of nothing. In addition to this she and her guests turn the kitchen, the garden and anything else you can think of ‘upside down’ and invite us to do the same.
The show’s official plot description reads: “A new series that espouses Meghan’s brand of direction, this lifestyle show breaks the mold of traditional cooking and DIY shows while using humor and discussion with friends, both old and new.
Meghan Markle gives out ideas and strategies on how to create mess-free art, stress fun over flawlessness and demonstrates how stunning can be crafted from anything. She still wears her apron in the kitchen, the garden and invites all guests to do the same”. The show is expected to be out on the 15th of January next year on Netflix.
