Lalit Manchanda: The television actor was discovered dead in his home in Meerut on Monday (April 21). He was 36 years old.
CINE AND TV ARTISTES’ ASSOCIATION (CINTAA) issued a statement confirming his death. An Instagram post from CINTAA read: “CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Lalit Manchanda (member since 2012)”.
According to a source in Amar Ujala, the actor was struggling to survive in Mumbai and had shifted back to Meerut along with his family almost six months ago.
Manchanda had built a career in television acting in many popular serials, including a role in the longest-running comedy program Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He is also known for playing a father figure in DD National’s Sevanchal Ki Premkatha.
He also acted in India’s Most Wanted, Crime Patrol, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, and other shows.

According to police reports confirmed in The Times of India, the body of the actor was discovered at his home. Initial investigations stated that it was a case of suicide.
The police got involved after receiving the call, immediately making their way to the location. At the scene, no suicide note was found.
The Cine & TV Artistes’ Association(CINTAA)also paid tribute to the late actor. In an Instagram note, they wrote, “CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Lalit Manchanda (member since 2012).”
