Gurugram Traffic Police has levied a challan of ₹15,000 on a Mahindra Thar said to be carrying popular rapper Badshah who was found driving on the wrong side of the road, said officials on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on the night of December 15 when Badshah reached the Airia Mall, Sohana Road, to perform on a concert of Punjabi singer Karan Aujla, police added.
The singer was present in the SUV and its registration number is in the name of Deepender Malik, a resident of Panipat.
Because of clogging for long time, the SUV along with two other vehicles used as trailers of Badshah’s car crossed to the wrong lane and some bystanders recorded them doing so.
It also dawned on the traffic police that a similar video had gone viral, and they sent them a ₹15,000 challan on Monday.

“A challan has been issued and action has been taken for wrong side, rash driving and loud speaker used in the vehicle”, said a Traffic Inspector.
The Gurugram Traffic Police later released an official statement in response to the video which read: “If you dare use the wrong side of the road, beware, you will be meeting a very very heavy fine”.
According to the statement, on December 15 another act was reported, a video showing three cars driving on the wrong side in order to get to Airia Mall.
Altogether, in the course of investigation, three vehicle were observed to be operating on the wrong side of the road. One of the cars was found to be under trouble and was detected and challaned as per the Motor Vehicles Act, and rapper Badshah was seen getting down from one of the cars.
There is still attempt to find the two other cars and depending on the rules, the necessary move will be made,” Deputy Commissioner of Police , Virender Vij, stated.
The unfortunate event happened on December 15, evening after the artist watched the performance of the Punjabi singer Karan Aujla at Airia Mall, Sohna Road, Gurugram.
As reported by PTI The vehicle involved in the violation, is a Mahindra Thar, which belongs to Deepender Malik from Panipat, and was part of Badshah’s convoy. Besides, while Badshah was not driving the car, he was a passenger in the car and this was confirmed by the traffic authorities.

The information became known after the pedestrians shot the convoy’s movement along the lane iso-ther to the cars’ traffic jam. The videos trended on social media and the clips became the turning point for traffic police to act. CCTV cameras in the area are also being watched in a bid to identify other vehicles not only violating traffic laws but as part of a convoy.
Traffic Inspector Devender Kumar said, “A challan levied and action has been taken for rash driving, playing loud music inside vehicle and wrong side driving.”

This incident is added to a list of controversies regarding the rapper. Earlier this month, there was a blast at Badshah’s club in Chandigarh allegedly by gangster Goldy Brar, associated with Lawrence Bishnoi.
