Neil Gaiman news: There have been claims that rape, heinous sexual assault and power, including the coercive application of the nad have been leveled against writer Neil Gaiman after four more women came forward to accuse the star in an article in the New York Magazine.
Thus far, 13 women have accused the science-fiction and fantasy powerhouse of rape. The survivors still living are a fan who was 18 years old when the alleged rape happened to her.
Neil Gaiman is Accused of Serial Sexual Assault
Neil Gaiman Allegations: The allegation of Neil Gaiman’s sexual misconduct over the years first became public in July 2024, through Master: The Allegations Against Neil Gaiman, a six-part podcast documentary from Tortoise Media. More allegations followed on the Am I Broken: Survivor Stories podcast.
The alleged victims, who were all young women in their twenties at the time, were either fans or babysitters for Gaiman and his then-wife, the famous pop-feminist Amanda Palmer, who apparently was aware of at least some of the harassment.

Palmer is also accused of failing to comply with a police investigation in 2023 when one of the women reported the case officially, as the New York Magazine story shows.
A pattern that can be observed throughout the article and in the other accusations is that Gaiman purportedly forced women take on BDSM roles with him by saying, ‘call me Master’.
The women have accused Gaiman of sexually assaulting them, stripping them of their dignity through ritual humiliation, and raping them and then using coercion to get them to agree it was consensual.
Writer Neil Gaiman Books
With a similar wonder, Gaiman has written the Sandman graphic novels for DC Comics, The Ocean at the End of the Lane, Anansi Boys, Gods American and other like-formula novels which have fan base almost of cult kind. He also wrote Good Omens with Terry Pratchett, a very famous and most successful fantasy novelist.
Good Omens the novel has been adapted into an Amazon prime series by the same name and The Sandman also has its Netflix adaptation. A darker adaptation of American Gods is also coming out soon on Prime and of course, the author is involved in all of these adaptations.
After the July 2024 rumors, it was revealed that instead of a substantially different show which was planned to be the third season of Good Omens, a single 90-minutes-episode is made – and Gaiman was relieved from his writing duties.
However, there are no updates from Netflix for the sophomore season of The Sandman, which is also expected to come out this year.
The author has a huge number of readers, many of whom consider him a progressive—feminist and pro-LGBTIQA+—celebrity who promoted several social causes. He is also referred to as a ‘modest’ novel writer, though famous for being attentive to fans through sites such as; BlueSky, X, and Tumblr.
In a statement on January 14, shared on his personal website, Gaiman dismissed all the accusations, noting that, “… if I analyze my past – and compare it to the events that took place in this particular case as opposed to those reported – I do not see that there was abuse. In other words: Again, I have never forcibly sexualized someone against their will.”

Gaiman also said that some of the ‘horrible stories now being told; never even occurred, while others have been so twisted from what actually occurred that it doesn’t resemble it at all. What I am ready to state here and accept any blame that may be attributed to me there I own the responsibility.
‘I am not prepared to close my eyes to the reality and I cannot sit idly and allow myself to be painted as a wrongdoer that I know I am not, cannot be and am never going to be, a person that has been involved in things he has not,’ he said.
He added that in the past, he had been “obviously careless with people’s hearts and feelings,” adding that that had been “selfish” of him.
Neil Gaiman Denies Sexual Assault Allegations After Multiple Women Come Forward
Writer Neil Gaiman has denied all allegations against him after multiple women accused him of sexual misconduct in a New York Magazine article, writing in a lengthy statement: This policy is clear for me: I have never force anyone for sexual intercourse. Ever.”
In the full statement published on his website on Tuesday, Gaiman said he had refrained from speaking publicly about the allegations “out of respect for the people who were sharing their stories and out of a desire not to draw even more attention to a lot of misinformation” but added: Its much better to sit down and come to the conclusion that you have now for you to be confident that you should say something.
While he acknowledged “there are moments I half-recognise and moments I don’t” in the New York Magazine article, he denied committing sexual assault, writing: I may be many things but I have never forced myself on any female or male for that matter for any sexual act. Ever.”
Although he claimed that all of his business connections with the women involved consensual sexual relationships according to their messages to him at the time, he says he has spent half a year to rethink how he corresponded himself in relationships.

“I could be sexually accessible but emotionally inaccessible, self-absorbed and less considerate than I ought to have been,” he said.
“At the same time, while I review the past – and when I say this I mean the time preceding the creation of this commission, when everything that actually happened was still happening, rather than what is being claimed – I personally do not recognize actual abuse.” In other words, I have never raped anyone or forced myself on anybody in their absence.”
He said some of the “horrible” allegations “simply never happened” and that others “have been so distorted from what actually took place that they bear no relation to reality.
As for all the possible mistakes I made, I am ready to bear any consequences. I refuse to look the other way and do not feel it is right for me, or anyone else to be labelled as someone they know they are not; or are capable of; incapable of, and unwilling to admit to having done something which one has not done.
In an interview with Tortoise, Gaiman’s representatives said that ‘sexual degradation, bondage, domination, sadism and masochism may not be to everyone’s taste, but between consenting adults, BDSM is lawful.’
New Zealand police received a complaint of a sexual assault against Gaiman in January of 2023 but the case was later dismissed.
