Singer Neha Kakkar hit the headlines after she burst into tears on stage during her concert in Melbourne. The following day, the video went viral on social media. According to reports, Ms. Neha had come to the event three hours late and, as a result, a few audience members began booing her. Though the incident has been all over the news, Neha Kakkar has not commented about it. However, Tony Kakkar, Neha’s brother, seems to have expressed cryptic statements related to the incident.
Tony Kakkar’s cryptic post sparks speculation

Tuesday, Neha’s brother, singer Tony Kakkar, hastened to use his Instagram page to post a cryptic post. Rather talk about the whole fiasco involving his sister’s event recently in Melbourne, he raised a ‘hypothetical’ issue about the responsibilities of people when he invites them to a particular city and does not keep proper arrangements for them. In the next post, he went on to wonder about whether artists actually had to draw boundaries when the public were not expected to be subjected to the same boundaries.
Tony wrote,” Suppose I request you to come to my city for an event and take the full responsibility of all hotels, cars, airport pickups, and tickets for ensuring that no arrangements were made-even no car was at the airport, no hotel booked and no ticket was obtained. Then who is to blame?”

The Dheeme Dheeme singer captioned the post, “Ek Sawaal Hai… (One question) folded hands emoji, Kisi ke liye nahi hai…Bas sawaal hai… (Not directed towards anyone, but just a question) Hypothetically.”
In one more post, he just mentioned, “Artist maryada mein rahe, aur janta ?(An artist should remain within their limits, but what about public?).”
Fans wonders
As soon as Tony’s cryptic posts came on the web, many wondered whether perhaps Tony was indirectly addressing his sister Neha’s backlash after weeping onstage in Melbourne.
One fan wrote, “The truth is out! It’s the promoter’s fault—no proper arrangements, no backstage setup, and they didn’t even show up! Neha Kakkar still went on stage for her fans. RESPECT HER!”, while one commented, “Thank god you spoke up !!!!! It is clearly the fault of the one who had to arrange everything, it’s so heartbreaking to know that she went through such disrespect, she’s the renowned artist of India!”

To this, another said, “The real issue was the failure of the promoter, not hers. Get your fact straight before judging! It was management issue- lesson learned.”
Another such comment read, “Before blaming Neha Kakkar, know the facts! The promoters ran away leaving her in a mess with the audience. She still showed up for her fans,” and another said, “Instead of targeting Neha Kakkar, question the promoters that didn’t do their job! No arrangements, no setup, and they didn’t come to the show.”
An Australian tour with Neha Kakkar met with controversy when early films of the artist on the day of her concert surfaced. Kakkar was allegedly three hours late to the show for the dismayed audience and soon faced wrath that many hoped she would apologise for. By the time a Reddit user put the video up, some people were screaming “Boo!” to her in the background as she sobbed about the whole scenario on stage.
Somewhere in that tiny clip, Neha apologises, saying, “You have been really sweet and patient-itni der se aap log wait kar rahe ho(You have been waiting for so long). I hate it. Maine life mein kabhi kisi ko wait nahi karwaya(I’ve never made anyone wait in my entire life).”
“Aap itne din se wait kar rahe ho (You have been waiting for so long). I’m so sorry. You mean the world to me. Aap log itne sweet ho (You people are so sweet). I was so worried ki kya hoga (I was worried what would happen). It means a lot to me. I’ll always remember this evening forever. But I’ll make sure, aap log jo mere liye itna keemati time nikaal ke aaye ho (that you have taken out your precious time for me), I make you all dance.” she appealed.

Heard shouting “go back” from the audience, Kakkar then took the mic to address the audience. And then the firestorm was unleashed on social media once the video went live, pouncing accusations and disgrace upon Kakkar. On the other hand, her true fan army stood up for her and started to shower their love on her.

Neha Kakkar was then seen in a short clip where she assured the audience she would make them all dance. “You have been really sweet and patience itni der se aap log wait kar rahe ho (you’ve been waiting for so long). I hate it. Maine life mein kabhi kisi ko wait nahi karwaya (I’ve never made anyone wait in my entire life).”

Audience slam Neha
In the video, the audience was heard saying, “This isn’t India, you’re in Australia. Go back and take rest. We waited for over two hours. Very good acting. Yeh Indian Idol nahi hai (This isn’t Indian Idol).”
“Someone, please bring the guy in the background on a TV show.” Commented one person, “This needs to happen a lot more. It’s disgusting the level of ‘fashionably late’ (aka 2-3 hours) so many celebs are allowed to get away with,” read a comment. “Deduct $150 dollar for overacting,” said another Reddit user.
“People pay money to watch Neha Kakkar??? That’s what you get for attending a Neha Kakkar concert” wrote another person. “3 hrs late???? That’s so unprofessionalism. The least she can do is refund,” commented a social media user. “First she used to do in TV shows, now she’s doing it on concert podiums as well,” read a comment.
Support for Neha
An Instagram video captured the crying Neha. Comments talks of how the event organizers made away with the sponsoring money: “The show was about to get cancelled but she didn’t cancel it and even after such mess, she did the concert just for the audience and thus was hours late. That’s why she was crying for making you guys wait.”
“The show was done without the payment, the dancers and everyone she paid from her own pocket. She came just for audience!”, said another Instagram user. Another comment talked about how, “Instead of walking away, Neha chose to perform despite the chaos, she was hours late not by choice but because she refused to let the audience down.”
