Nagarjuna, a telugu actor, had good news to share with his fans and that was his birthday on Thursday, the 29th of August. The team which included the producers and directors of the much anticipated Tamil film Coolie initiated him into the crew tentatively. The movie featuring the legendary Rajinikanth in the lead role is one of the much-anticipated movies of 2025 and the addition of Nagarjuna further spices up things.
There were even rumours doing rounds that Nagarjuna might not be a part of this movie at all with some channels even going to the extent of reporting that Upendra from Kannada may be roped in after Nagarjuna refused to do the movie. But all the rumors have been brought to halt after the announcement was done.
On Thursday, Director Lokesh Kanagaraj posted the first look of Nagarjuna on his twitter account in a stylish poster in which ‘Presenting Simon,’ So, this is introducing Nagarjuna, a stylish man with black shirt, branded wristwatch in his hand. Lokesh then turned to X – earlier known as Twitter and tweeted, “Kicked to have King @iamnagarjuna sir joining the cast of #Coolie as #Simon Welcome on board and wishing you very happy birthday sir. ”
That is not all to the tally of interestingness, Coolie also stars Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, and Mahendran in main roles. There are also indications that Bollywood actor Aamir Khan may also appear in cameo role in the movie, with Rajinikanth after 30 years of their previous movie AatankHiAatankin which JuhiChawla also featured. But there has been no official word coming from the management of the company regarding its casting of Aamir.
This first Tamil picture is being made, across the length and breadth of India, on an enormously large scale with a large amount of funding. That is why the exact date of the release has not yet been disclosed, however fans may watch Coolie in the second half of 2025.
However many expected Coolie to be part of the Lokes Cinematic Universe(LCU). But in an interview, Lokesh Kanagaraj said that Coolie is actually a film of its own and doesn’t fall under the LCU which consists of movies such as Leo, Kaithi 2, Vikram 2 and there is another yet to be announced spin-off movie.
