Mumbai Accident News: Initially, the car was going at a high speed when the driver of actress Urmila Kothare lost control of the vehicle, sourcing police.
According to police officials, the labourer was run over by an actor’s car when returning from shooting its considerable share in life in Mumbai’s Kandivali. The other victim would be the severely injured. Also injured were the actor and driver.
Police say that actress Urmila Kothare was returning home from the shooting wrap-up around Friday evening when her driver “lost control” of the car and hit two laborers working near Poisar Metro station.;

Mumbai Accident News: Urmila Kothare Car Crash

According to a police statement, the two were hit by the car, one died on the spot, while the other was hospitalized. The driver was also seriously injured, while Ms Kanetkar suffered minor injuries.
According to sources, the car was going at a great speed-the Hyundai Verna car- when the airbags opened at the right time, and so it saved the life of the actor.
The driver is booked under various sections primarily for rash driving and also for causing death by negligence.
The incident took place when Urmila was returning from work near Poisar Metro station. The driver lost control of the car, which was going at high speed, and hit two metro workers.
One of the workers died instantaneously, while the other has sustained multiple injuries. According to police, Urmila saved herself through the timely action of the airbags.
“A midnight car crash of Urmila Kothare in a car between two labourers engaged in Metro rail work under Poisar Metro station in Kandivali east. One labourer died and the other is seriously injured.
The actor and the driver too suffered injuries, but were saved when airbags opened at the right time,” the police official at Samta Nagar Police Station said.
Who is Urmila Kothare ?
Urmila Kothare is recognized as an eminent Marathi actress who primarily featured in such movies as ‘Duniyadaari’, ‘Shubhmangal Saavdhan’, and ‘Ti Sadhya Kay Karte’. Recently, she re-entered the television screen through the Star Pravah show ‘Tujech Mi Geet Gaat Ahe’, her first show after a break of 12 years.
Her husband is Addinath Kothare, himself an actor and director, son of the renowned filmmaker Mahesh Kothare, who has not opened his mouth on the whole episode.
The police still investigate the reason for the accident, with no confirmed details expected of injuries sustained by Urmila and her driver. Fans and well-wishers have reportedly expressed concern for the actress’s recovery, while the tragic loss of life of the metro employee has led to hoards of sympathy for the bereaved family.

Mumbai road incidents are getting higher and higher. The most recent road fatality in Mumbai this month followed closer to another deadly road incident.

Seven people lost their lives, with 42 injuries from the accident and more than 20 vehicles damaged. The crash received the floodlight of a CCTV camera and has raised serious concerns regarding road safety in the city.
In another accident, a four-year-old boy was killed in Mumbai after being knocked down by a speeding automobile whose officials claim a 19-year-old was driving. The incident took place last week in the Wadala area when the child paid the price when playing on the street.
