Maha Kumbh Mela 2025: He’s been doing so for the past 40 years, when in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Chai Wale Baba has provided free coaching to civil service aspirants without consuming anything or speaking.

Dinesh Swaroop Brahmachari, who had once been a chai wala, would not speak with anyone, nor would he eat any food at all. Just on ten cups of tea each day, he survives. One might ask how, if he does not open his lips, he guides students at the coaching center, the answer being: WhatsApp.
Rajesh Singh, a civil service aspirant, told ANI, “I have known him for almost four to five years,” adding that he directs “his disciples” whenever needed.
“Language requires a medium, either written or oral, and none really calls it non-verbal. Guruji is silent, but we understand through his gestures and WhatsApp messages,” asked Singh.
He said that students write their queries or concerns to him and he also responds to them in written word. However, Singh clarified that the disciples don’t believe that “written medium is the best, but it serves its purpose”.
The Baba, who’s at Mahakumbh currently, apart from intern-specific notes distributes free coaching through WhatsApp for civil aspirants. He even answers the questions through Meta’s platform.
“When asked, Baba writes that his goal is to educate students and help them become officers,” Singh told ANI.
But why is Baba silent? Singh noted that the saint explained that through silence, energy was stored up, which he then used for the welfare of mankind.
Seemingly, this Chai Wale Baba has caught the attention of the growing crowd of visitors to Uttar Pradesh before the Maha kumbh Mela 2025.
