Fake Brad Pitt Romance Scam imposters : The latest appalling case has to do with 53-year-old French woman, Anne, who was swindled money in what must have been a modern-day type of romance scam in which she became convinced that she was actually involved with Hollywood actor, Brad Pitt. Anne told it on TF1’s “Sept à huit” program that was aired on Sunday evening .

During her statement, she disclosed that the con man, who pretended to be Pitt, succeeded in scamming her into parting with over 850,850 euros, which is approximately Rs 7.5crore.
When they started, the story was set in February 2023 where the female lead, Anne, was an interior designer who went skiing in Tignes. A recent one was a message from an Instagram account that was mimicking Jane Etta Pitt – the mother of Brad Pitt.
Soon after, she says, someone pretending to be Brad himself contacted her. This was followed by an exchange of poetic love messages and AI generated videos that made Anne think she was in a real relationship with the star.
Although the man has never called her and sent messages and apologies from time to time, Anne felt like they were in a real relationship.
At the time, Anne was still in the process of divorce with her millionaire husband. Feeling and sensing that the relationship was authentic, the fake Brad Pitt kept sending her poetry and messages of affection.
It took a nasty twist when the impersonator said he had sent her various gifts that were from the houses of Chanel and Hermès. But he demanded she has to pay him 9, 000 euros for the customs fee in order to receive the goods that were never sent to begin with.

The fraudster then persuaded Anne to contribute more money that he was needing for kidney cancer treatment. He went to an extent of creating anekdot about his accounts being frozen because of divorce from Angelina Jolie.
But to top it all, she was receiving photos from the fake Brad Pitt supposedly hospitalized, although, in reality, those were also the AI’s handiwork. Anne was only convinced that she was being scammed when she came across real photographs of Brad Pitt hugging his new fiancée Ines de Ramon. By this time she had even been defrauded 850 000 euros by the PC scam.

Anne was not the only woman that was duped into a fake “Brad Pitt” scam. Last September, five people were arrested to fake a relationship with two Spanish females and steal 325, 000 euros. The fake profile mimicked the Oscar-winning actor on WhatsApp and contacted the women through a social media fan page called Brad Pitt.
