The district commissioner of Ludhiana reported that there is no reason for panic at this time. They may, at any time, have to declare a blackout and the armed forces in collaboration with the district administration are monitoring the situation very keenly.

The district commissioner in Patiala stated that warnings will be issued early if there is an imminent threat although he reassures the public that there is no need to be nervous at the moment.

In Amritsar the district commissioner maintained that there are reports of ceasefire breaches and that a blackout can be applied as needed.

“… In case of necessity, I hope that you will have blackout readiness in mind… Stay indoors or at home… There has been a number of drills in the past, so keep calm. This is a preventive measure,” the Amritsar DC notified the public.

Gunfire was also reported to have been heard in Baramulla.

Further, there was an explosion reported at Sopore.

Jaisalmer has fully lost its power supply, in several districts in Rajasthan and Punjab. A total power interruption has been implemented in Moga, Punjab.

On Saturday, US President Donald Trump announced that India and Pakistan had reached an accord to remove a complete and immediate ceasefire, after a string of deadly attacks between the nuclear-armed rivals. The ceasefire came after long negotiations under US mediation Trump claimed.

The deal was finally certified by both countries after a barrage of missiles from India to Pakistan on Saturday that represented their worst scuffle in nearly three decades.

In a Saturday statement, Pakistani military officials said they had conducted a co-ordinated attack, hitting multiple Indian targets before striking a missile storage site in north India. The attack was named as operation Bunyan Ul Marsoos; “wall of lead” is the Arabic term for the same.
