On this festival of Diwali one organization that is in the business of structural steel design and detailing went out of its way to show employees love for them, giving out 28 cars and 29 bikes to its employees to ensure they remained more productive.
Currently, the Chennai company is having approximately 180 workers mostly skilled in their various fields despite coming from humble background. These include car brands such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai right up to the luxury cars manufacturers such as Mercedes Benz were awarded to employees as recognition to their efficiency at work.
The Managing Director of the country’s reputed media group, Sridhar Kannan, spoke to the Kannada daily newspaper on the purpose of embarking on this project, Vartha Bharati. Our human capital or Employees often exist as the greatest resources of our organizations. They have been very hardworking and committed in their performance hence helping the company grow and this is how we appreciate them, Kannan noted.
Notably, this isn’t the first time the company has decided to give something back to its community. It gifted cars to two employees in 2022, and in the past years, it has mostly given bikes as gifts. The choice is made depending on the motivation and results of the workers, in fact, the program is aimed at achieving the desire of owning a car. Apart from vehicles, the company also offers financial support to its employees for marriage expenses and recently increased the financial support for marriage expenses from Rs 50000/- to Rs 1,00,000/-. All these programs are among the company’s approaches towards the management of employees’ relations to ensure the employees received the desired motivation.
Kannan was assuring that the company will maintain the trends of employee and customer relationship enhancement, thereby supporting the organisational culture of employee care.
Structural steel design and detailing firm, Team Detailing Solutions has been as charitable as to give out 28 cars and 29 bikes to its employees.
A host of new number of cars such as Hyundai, Tata, Maruti Suzuki and Mercedes Benz were also given to employees as a gesture of appreciation for their effort and commitment, an official added.
South city based company’s managing director Sridhar Kannan added, “The aim was to express gratitude to our employees who continue to work round the clock to achieve company goals. The management of ING Bank shared some ideological perceptions about the company with the participants of the interview; So it was asked: What’s your organizational culture? And they said: We believe our employees are our greatest assets.
‘Happy to note employees’ performance.’
The Chennai company has been able to quantify the employees by using parameters such as performance, the number of years in service. ‘Our employees have been very hardworking and dedicated and it is our honour to reward them for their effort,’ he said.
Speaking to reporters, Kannan said the firm employs around 180 people and all of them come from humble backgrounds but are highly trained.
Chennai Company’s “Marriage Assistance”
The Chennai company launched what it termed as ‘marriage assistance’ to the workers.
To a query he said that the company will provide the car or cycle maximum up to that amount for its transport. If the employee wants a vehicle that is better than what offered by the company, the employee has to buy the remaining amount, he pointed out.
In addition to car gifts, the Chennai company declared that it gives money to employees as marital aids. For instance if the fellow employee is about to get married we were providing ₹50,000 for marriage expenditure. ”We have now raised that to ₹1 lakh from this year,” he said.
Here we anticipate that this gesture from the company will determine morale, motivation and production rates. We are privileged to acknowledge the efforts put in by the employees. ”We will also remain focused on our employees and customers,” he said.
