These scenes resonate with the Indian viewers, whether it is Ramleela stage shows or burning Ravan effigies. Films demonstrate how the festival provides meaning and emotion to storytelling.
‘Swades’ (2004)
Swades by Ashutosh Gowariker is still one of the best movies of Shah Rukh Khan. The novel is a mixture of patriotism and self-discovery. It has one of the memorable scenes where a Ramleela performance is depicted revealing how Lord Ram defeated Ravan. This scene of folk theater is related to the theme of coming back to origins and fighting against evil. It gives viewers a reminder that Dussehra is not only tradition, it is a lesson of bravery and fairness.
‘Brahmastra’ (2022)
Dussehra, in Ayan Mukerji directed Brahmastra, is taken to the big screen in an energetic manner. The song Dance Ka Bhoot by Arijit Singh, uses the character of Ranbir Kapoor named Shiva dancing in full spirit in the festival. The festivities conclude with Ravan effigy being burnt, which is a victory over darkness.
