During the Champions Trophy 2025 match against Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday Virat Kohli of the Indian cricket team destroyed Sachin Tendulkar’s amazing record to gain an exceptional achievement. In 287 innings Virat Kohli achieved the fastest time that a batter has acquired 14,000 ODI runs thereby taking the record from Sachin Tendulkar.
Sachin Tendulkar maintained the record previously because he needed 350 innings to reach 14,000 runs before Sachin held it. Kumar Sangakkara from Sri Lanka stands alone as the second batter to reach 14,000 ODI runs while requiring 378 innings to do so.
Kohli earned the record for fastest batting achievement of 14,000 ODI runs within his 300 innings milestone.

The milestone approached with 15 runs so Kohli swiftly reached it by hitting a boundary off Rauf.
The premier batter achieved his fifty-first ODI hundred by facing 111 balls.
An unbalanced battle took place when India triumphed over Pakistan by six wickets in Sunday’s Champions Trophy match which secured a semifinal position for India. India batted through 241 runs while waiting for Saud Shakeel to make 62 off 76 balls alongside their skipper Mohammad Rizwan reaching 46 after 77 balls.
Kuldeep Yadav achieved three wickets and Hardik Pandya secured the removal of Babar Azam (23) and Shakeel during the match.
Victory arrived in 42.3 overs for India after Virat Kohli scored 100 not out off 111 balls and Shubman Gill hit 46 from 52 deliveries and Shreyas Iyer reached 56 off 67 balls.
Rohit Sharma scored 20 runs from his 15 balls while hitting several risky strokes before Shaheen Afridi dismissed him.
India already secured semifinal qualification after starting their matches with back-to-back victory achievements. The elimination chances for Pakistan rise as they lost their first two group games while India continues to advance towards semifinals with two consecutive victories.
