One of United Airlines’ aircraft made an urgent landing after experiencing a fire in its engine which resulted from an infrequent rabbit collision incident.
The Federal Aviation Administration together with air traffic control recordings showed that the engine of flight UA2325 started burning shortly after takeoff from Denver International Airport while traveling to Edmonton. Precise reports indicate that the flight engine perpetrated flames because a rabbit crashed into one of its components as the aircraft prepared to depart.

After air traffic control recordings were obtained by The New York Post the flight crew sought engine malfunction checks due to their belief that the aircraft received a fire from a rabbit strike.
Over the radio transmission someone mentioned that United Airlines Flight 2325 should be aware of flames briefly emerging from its right engine as per Fox8 reporting. The crew member stated they believed the aircraft had lost its right engine power.
Through engine number 2 rabbiting it will resolve the issue the pilot stated.
During the rabbit’s impact into the turbine the passenger heard a powerful explosion which brought about heavy vibrations before the aircraft began to climb. He revealed that several times the engine released powerful flames and huge fireballs emerged from its tail. People aboard the plane began to panic throughout the aircraft.
Another traveler confessed his panic while believing the aircraft might suffer a disastrous stop. His stomach sank since he instantly thought about witnessing an aircraft crash.
The aircraft departed from Denver at 8:05 pm with its 153 passengers together with six crew members while maintaining safety for all. United Airlines transported the passengers onto a different aircraft which operated their journey from Denver to Edmonton.
UNITED AIRLINES declared in its official statement that Flight UA2325 from Denver to Edmonton needed to return safely to Denver for assessment of a potential wildlife collision after the incident.

The Federal Aviation Administration currently conducts an investigation of what occurred during the flight.
US aviation officials tracked 19,400 wildlife incidents that hit air vehicles at 713 landing facilities in 2023.
During their communication the pilot declared: “There’s a rabbit entering into engine number two.”
The airport controller replied with the quick command “number two [engine] rabbit through will fix the issue” to the pilot as reported by ABC News.
FlightAware tracking indicates the aircraft departed locally at 7pm and arrived at Denver in 1 hour and 13 minutes at 8.21pm.
The passenger Scott Wolff stated to Good Morning America about the incident that “a loud bang and a significant vibration passed through the plane.”
Every few moments a massive fireball shown from the engine as he perceived backfires.
The sudden sounds resulted in mass panic within the entire aircraft.
The aviation industry experiences numerous bird strikes while aircraft encounters with rabbits as a cause of damage remain very uncommon.
Aircraft encounters with wildlife strikes totaled 20,000 within 2024 as per Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) records yet only four incidents involved rabbits.
The jet managed to touch down safely at Denver without reporting any injuries to passengers.
The United Airlines representative spoke to ABC about the situation after their UA2325 flight from Denver to Edmonton needed to land back at Denver because of a possible wildlife interaction.
Airlines shifted their passengers to a different aircraft to conduct the flight journey according to their statement.
The US Federal Aviation Administration actively investigates this incident.
United Airlines Flight 2325 successfully returned to Denver International Airport at 8.05pm on Sunday 13 of April after crew members notified the control tower about striking an animal during departure.
