The Startup Blink report (2025) reveals that the total number of new startups globally is growing, but at a slower rate approaching 21%.
San Francisco is still ranked first for 2025, showing an annual growth of ecosystem at 19.9% and New York and London follow in second and third.
The difference between San Francisco and New York has decreased from 2.8× to 2.7×, but London leads the rise with a 29% increase over its 2019 score.

It was further noted in the report that Asia-Pacific experienced incredible growth of 27.4% in the last year and with Beijing’s outstanding growth of more than 25%, Asia’s cities very quickly replaced Boston, advancing to 5th place.
The impressive growth of Singapore City catapulted it from 22nd in 2022, all the way to 12th in 2025, putting it near the top 10.
Notably, Seoul, the capital of South Korea, is now in the global top 20 for the first time, after growing by more than 30% for three straight years.

For 2025, what are the top Indian cities for startups and how they compare to the rest of the world?
India went from ranking high to 17th last year to falling to 22nd worldwide in 2025. It represents one of the biggest drops among the top companies in the world.
Even so, Canada has six metropolitan areas in the global top 100 and is the third nation, joined by the United States and China, to include three cities in the top 20.
As the city with the least annual growth, Bangalore finishes the top 10 in 2025, after Paris and Tel Aviv, with a 13.8% rise. New Delhi appears 11th with 15.5% development.

Mumbai has moved up to the 18th rank worldwide in 2025, with a strong growth rate of more than 30% that is the best in India’s big cities.
Conversely, Hyderabad, Pune and Chennai show growth below 14% this year. Therefore, they move back 5, 3 and 7 positions in the rankings and become the least developed cities in the country’s top 100.
