The top Indian corporations paying taxes in 2024-25 will operate within a sustained 6.7% growth environment while outperforming global estimates of 2.7% according to the World Bank report from January 2025.
The most valuable Indian companies identified by Burgundy Private Hurun India 500 now total US$3.8 trillion (Rs 324 lakh crore) based on their recent evaluation data which demonstrates a 40% enhancement.
The combined sales volume of US$1 trillion from these firms generated an 11% increase in revenue which automatically led to higher corporate tax obligations and positively affected overall corporate tax revenue growth.
These companies provided 19% of the provisional gross corporate tax collection during 2024 which amounted to Rs 2.2 lakh crore because three sectors particularly financial services software and energy generated record profits.
The companies ranked highest for direct tax payment by Hurun India in 2024
The Indian companies Reliance Industries and Tata Consultancy Services emerged in 2024 as the corporations that paid the highest direct taxes in India.

Reliance Industries maintained the lead as the highest taxpayer with Rs 25,707 crore while Tata Consultancy Services remained in second place with Rs 15,898 crore.
Vedanta demonstrated the highest corporate tax payment growth during this year at 122% yet HDFC Bank experienced a tax reduction of 28% in terms of corporate tax payments.
