M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025 is out and we bring in your list of where the wealthy citizens in India prefer to live and the results indicate that there is a sharp concentration on a few major cities. These cities not only serve as economic powerhouses from financial capitals such as Mumbai to IT capitals such as Bengaluru, but also host the top billionaires and business houses in India.

Mumbai – 451 residents
The city keeps leading the list of the richest city in India with 451 entries, which is a huge improvement to 255 in 2021. There are 91 billionaires in the city and the wealthiest person living in it is Mukesh Ambani and his family, which is the richest family in India. The industrialists and entrepreneurs of the richest companies in India are all still drawn to the financial capital.
New Delhi – 223 residents
It is succeeded by the national capital, which has 223 representatives of the list, which is higher than in 2021 (167). Roshni Nadar Malhotra and family are in the lead, so are the 70 billionaires in Delhi.
Bengaluru – 116 residents
The third place is captured by the Silicon Valley of India, Bengaluru with 116 residents, an increase of 85 in 2021. At the leading position in the rich list in the city are Azim Premji and family. Bengaluru, which is also known to be the IT industry, has 31 billionaires, which is an attestation of its robust position in creating income through technology.
Hyderabad – 102 residents
Hyderabad is still to promote itself as a business city, having 102 entrants who are headed by Murali Divi and family. The city has 19 billionaires, though this is compared to 104 the previous year, and is a prosperous pharmaceutical, real estate and tech base.
Chennai – 94 residents
In 2022, of the 94 residents in the city, Chennai has increased to 43 wealthy individuals, compared to 2021. The city is led by 22 billionaires and is spearheaded by Venu Srinivasan, and indicates the increased power of the city in manufacturing, IT, and auto industries.
Ahmedabad – 68 residents
In Ahmedabad, the entrants number 68, which is slightly higher than 42 in 2021. The city is home to 16 wealthy billionaires led by Gautam Adani and family, and is where companies and businesses thrive in industrial and corporate development in Gujarat.
Kolkata – 68 residents
Kolkata is also ranked sixth position although it has 68 rich people, a slight improvement compared to the previous year. Sanjiv Goenka and family are the richest in the city and there are 11 billionaires in the city.
Pune – 66 residents
Pune has outstanding growth with 66 players compared to 31 players in 2021. The city is headed by Cyrus S Poonawalla and family who are known to have pharmaceutical empire. The city of Pune also has 12 billionaires showing that it is a vibrant business and educational city.
Gurugram – 38 residents
Gurugram is a fast-growing city rising to 38 affluent inhabitants, compared to 14 in 2021. Nirmal Kumar Minda and the family of the richest in the city, is also the automotive industry. Four billionaires are based in Gurugram, which is enhanced by the its location near Delhi and global corporate populations.
Surat – 32 Residents
Then Surat closes the top 10 with 32 people, which is an increase compared to 18 in 2021. Topping the wealthy of the city is Farukbhai Gulambhai Patel, two billionaires in this city. A diamond and textile prosperous city, Surat is becoming a robust financial centre in western India.
