There is a video that has now gone viral, where candidates, most of whom are Indians, lined up for a job interview on the pavement in front of the restaurant known as Tandoori Flame, in Canada.
The reel showed thousands of individuals waiting for the chance to work as waiters and service crew, according to the video. The video went viral, painting the reality of Indians Seeking Employment in Canada.
The recent shifts in Federal policy of Canada concerning Immigrant workers promulgated by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau government last month have created a lot of stir. Some key benefits as well as concerns regarding the current system of international work permits in the country While social media continues to dominate the debate about the advantages and disadvantages of the system, a recent video portraying several Indian students waiting in a long queue for the opportunity to become waiters in Canada, has regained much attention.
Using example of Tandoori Flame restaurant in Canada, the video expounded the hardships that Indian students undergo in their search for employment. One of the Indian students seeking the job, Agamvir Singh said that he came to know about the vacancy through an advertisement and got a call for an interview from the company after applying. Describing the happening at the door step of the restaurant another student reflects on the unemployment rate in the country.
Little was awfully right; now everybody is looking for a job but nobody is getting a job properly. Many friends of mine currently have no job and they have been here for 2-3 years,” the student commented.
Social Media Post About Students in Canada
As seen on the video, X handle @MeghUpdates stated, Some shocking images from Canada where 3000 students mostly Indian are queuing for waiter & servant job after a new restaurant in Brampton advertised the positions. Hundreds of thousands of people unemployed in Trudeau’s province? Those students leaving India to Canada with great dream in their eyes, need to be woke up and taught some hard lessons!
The video uploaded on X by a user with the handle @MeghUpdates on October 3, has the caption, “Scary scenes from Canada as 3000 students (mostly Indian) line up for waiter & servant job after an advertisement by a new restaurant opening in Brampton. A mass unemployment in Trudeau’s Canada? Those students who migrate to Canada with dreams pipe need to wake up and think again!
The release of the video has caused quite disturbing reactions by users of the social networks. A user responds: It shocked me to find 3000 students especially Indian waiting for waiter and servant jobs in Brampton. This is real life unemployment in Trudeau’s Canada as highlighted by the Statistics Canada report. People aspiring and leaving for India need to wake up from their reverie big time.
Some people supported students by explaining that many students from other countries spend their evenings working in restaurants to earn some extra money. One said, “Well to be honest if they are students and still in school I in a restaurant most probably is more of a part time job in order to cater for themselves. That should not be called unemployment.” Another said, ‘This looks like a part time job.” That is a culture in the West where students embrace such jobs.”
Many people left comments on the post and the video got about two million views. A user said I find it alarming if it is true. Today, Canada has a tremendously high level of unemployment. In the recent booking I didn’t notice so many youths present for job vacancy at newly opening restaurants even in India.
One of them said, “It is shocking to find 3,000 students mostly from India in Brampton seeking jobs as waiters or servants. This is how real unemployment looks like in Trudeau’s Canada. People hoping to get better lives by leaving India: ‘They need wake up call’!
They are located in Brampton YN and this tandoori flame is just 1.7 km away from where i live. They do this every year for publicity,” a third user said. “While Indian kids never felt the necessity to help with serving at home let alone cooking or washing dishes; are now eagerly volunteering for cleaning for strangers in a different country,” the third user wrote.
The video appears at the time when the company called Tim Horton has been receiving criticism for their employment policies. A Canadian woman recently reported that she was sacked from a multinational coffeehouse and cafe for making comments that she felt the company was only employing Indians.
