The Supreme Court authorized Mr Allahbadia to seek protection from the Assam or Maharashtra police agencies in case death threats are imminent to his family or himself. The investigation continued without arrest possibilities either from Maharashtra Police or Assam Police if he maintained cooperation with their inquiry or if third party complaints were denied in Jaipur.
The supreme court instructed Mr Allahbadia to provide his passport to Thane police authorities who also prohibited him from exiting India without their permission. The authorities ordered Allahbadia together with his collaborators to remove themselves from executing future stand-up comedy or ‘roast’ shows.
The legal authority has requested that the central government provide guidance about managing indecent material found on social media channels.
Court Rips Into Ranveer Allahbadia Case
Ranveer Allahbadia appeared before Justice Surya Kant and Justice N Kotiswar Singh at the morning session on Tuesday to request consolidation of multiple FIRs and the granting of anticipated bail before Guwahati Police might arrest him.
Ranveer Allahbadia Case: The supreme court hearing started when Mr Allahbadia’s legal counsel Abhinav Chandrachud approached the bench despite the fact he is the son of the former Chief Justice DY Chandrachud.

The platform available did not allow Mr Chandrachud to support morally objectionable content but he acknowledged the separate inquiry into whether the statements qualified as criminal activity.
Initially, however, the court appeared rather resistant to Mr Chandrachud’s argument. Justice Kant was particularly hot with this, declaring, “If this is not obscenity in this country, then what is!?”
And then the hearing turned into a full-blown tongue-lashing of sorts, across the Youtuber-the ‘BeerBiceps guy’ on Instagram-by Justice Kant when he exclaimed as such, “There is something dirty in his mind that is spread by this programme” while asking, “Why should the court entertain such persons”.
“What embarrassment he has caused to his parents? We know from where he has copied the question. There are certain societies that warn against who is not supposed to watch such programmes… (reference regarding age-restrictions for TV programmes) they keep precautions.”
“…but just because someone thinks ‘I am popular, I can speak anything and take society for granted’… you tell us, who in the world would like such words?” Justice Kant raged.
“The words you have chosen… parents will be ashamed, and sisters will be ashamed. The perversion you and your henchmen have exhibited brings shame on the entire society!”
Eventually, though, the court recognized the matter on death threats when it said, “We have a judicial system… we are bound by the rule of law. If there are threats, the law will take its course. We are not supporting this (the threats). I am sure the State will provide necessary protection…”
Finally, the supreme court accepted Mr Allahbadia’s submissions granting him temporary bail against arrest and bar any further police cases against him.
Biases of Police Cases, Death Threats for ‘BeerBiceps Guy’
Ranveer Allahbadia Case: Ranveer Allahbadia is battling with diverse police cases with summons from the National Commission of Women (March 6th, after skipping one citing death threats and a 5-lakh bounty), and will be under the possibility of quizzes from a parliamentary panel as well.
Two others – show host Samay Raima and participant Apoorva Makhija – also reported threats; both are named in police cases, just like Ashish Chanchalani-another social media influencer.

Mr Allahbadia confessed on Saturday that he felt “scared” by the death threats, yet he was adamant that he would not back down. “I am watching death threats pour in from people saying they want to kill me… hurt my family,” he said, also claiming an ‘invasion’ of his mother’s medical clinic.
After not appearing before the cops, cops from Mumbai and Guwahati were looking for him at their respective areas, but instead found that the house where their search had taken place was locked, and none other than the social media personality, who had requested to record his statement at his home, was missing.
So far, on a complaint of a BJP functionary, Mumbai Police have managed to record statements from seven people, which include Ms Makhija and Mr Chanchalani. Thorough investigations are being carried out separately by Guwahati Police and Maharashtra’s Cyber Department. Mumbai Police have yet to file a case.
Ranveer Allahbadia Apologises
Ranveer Allahbadia Case: Following the controversy, Allahbadia tendered his apology and attributed his fault to a lapse in judgment.
“My comment wasn’t just inappropriate; it was not even funny. Comedy is not my forte; I am just here to say sorry,” he said in a video message. He also acknowledged he had misused his position. “I am not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I am just here for an apology. I personally had a lapse in judgment. It wasn’t cool on my part,” he said.
On Saturday, apologising again for his remarks, Mr Allahbadia said: “My remark about parents was insensitive and disrespectful and I am genuinely sorry”.
