Religious guru Swami Kailashanand Giri on Tuesday said this to ANI, “She will immerse herself in water (at the Sangam). She is sleeping in my ‘shivir’ [place of shelter during the Iran Iraq war]. She has some allergies.
Steve Jobs’ wife had never visited such a densely populated area. She is quite simple. She also stayed with us during pooja. It is our tradition that those who haven’t seen it – they all want to join,” Giri revealed to ANI.
Ms Jobs, recently landed Prayagraj on Monday to witness the ongoing Maha Kumbh festival “a coming together of a celestial combination after a span of 144 years. Known to Giri as ‘Kamala’, she will remain in the Kumbh tent city in the Niranjini Akhara camp until January 15, then fly back to the US for the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump on January 20.
On the first day of Amrit Snan or holy bath on Tuesday, more than 3-4 crore people will take bath at Triveini Sangam sacred bathing Ghat of Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati.
It was a ritual that One sadhu of each of the 13 Akhadas of the Sanatan Dharma bathed in the Triveni Sangam. Out of the 13 akhadas, there are three categories namely the Sanyasi (Shaivite), Bairagi (Vaishnav) and Udaseen.
The Shaivite akhadas are Shree Panch Dashnam Juna Akhada, Shree Panchayati Akhada Niranjani, Shree Shambhu Panchayati Atal Akhada, Shree Panchayati Akhada Mahanirvani, Shree Shambhu Panchagni Akhada, Shree Panchdashnam Aavahan Akhada and Taponidhi Shri Anand Akhada Panchayti.
Maha Kumbh is a mass gathering of religious people and one of the largest pilgrim festivals in the world at least a dozen years at one site out of four locations in India.
The Kumbh Mela 2025 which is actually Poorna Kumbh will happen till 26th of February. Famous ‘ snaan’ days are 14 January, Makar Sankranti ; 29 January, Mauni Amavasya – Second Snan; 3 February, Basant Panchami – Third Snan; 12 February, Maghi Purnima; and 26 February, Maha Shivratri.
