Between 1999 and 2005 Russell Brand faces charges for rape together with indecent assault and sexual assault.
Four separate females form the basis of the charges.
Since the Sunday Times along with Times and Channel 4’s Dispatches investigated him in September 2023 Brand has repeatedly talked to police regarding serious accusations against him.
“I never engaged in any actions of rape” according to the video Russell Brand posted on X today. Throughout my lifetime I have always refrained from taking part in any unconsensual sexual encounters.
“I am thankful for the chance to defend the charges before a court because of this development.”
The Metropolitan Police issued a brief communication which notified Russell Brand about facing charges involving rape and indecent assault along with oral rape and sexual assault offenses.

According to official statements the Metropolitan Police assert that these incidents took place:
A person was subjected to rape in Bournemouth during 1999.
A woman suffered an indecent assault within the Westminster region of London in 2001.
A woman experienced oral sexual rape and sexual assault during 2004 in the Westminster region of London.
Between 2004 and 2005, the Westminster location of London experienced a sexual assault against a female victim.

The courts expect Brand to attend Westminster Magistrates’ Court on May 2 but officials believe he is currently located in the United States.
Prosecutors handle such cases by seeking defendant return from their out-of-country locations. Authorities move on to extradition proceedings as the first choice when a suspect refuses cooperation.
In February 2022 a civil case was filed at London’s High Court against Russell Brand through an unknown plaintiff who used court documents identifying as AGX for personal injury and sexual abuse charges.
Police investigation On Russell Brand
Jaswant Narwal from the Crown Prosecution Service authorized the Metropolitan Police to charge Russell Brand because of sexual offenses.
An extensive evaluation occurred after Channel 4 aired their documentary in September 2023 which prompted police to investigate resulting allegations.
The evidence demonstrates that Russell Brand must face criminal charges for rape alongside sexual assault and indecent assault cases. The reported non-recent crimes between 1999 to 2005 involved four women.
The Crown Prosecution Service cautions that the prosecution continues to move forward so defendants have a right to a fair trial. Online sharing or reporting of information about these proceedings must completely avoid any actions that could affect their fairness.

Detective Superintendent Andy Furphy of the Metropolitan Police leads the investigation and states that specially trained officers continue to support all women who filed reports.
The ongoing Metropolitan Police investigation into this case is still active and detectives urge any person who was harmed by this situation or knows anything about it to talk to police at their convenience. The CIT@met.police.uk email address allows investigators to assist anyone who wants to report information about the case.
Support is accessible to those who contact the independent charity Rape Crisis at 24/7 Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Line.
