Operations against Pakistan have merely been put into abeyance, and the future would depend on their behavior, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday in what was his first address to the citizens of India after the conflict with the neighboring country broke out last week.
That the Operation Sindoor was not just a name but an operation that was carried out after the Pahalgam terror attack was said by PM Modi. It was through it that the whole world witnessed the determination of India to take a concrete shape and more than one hundred fear filled terrorists were massacred in the attacks in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), he said.

He also described the Pahalgam attack – that claimed lives of 26 people on 25th April – as the most “barbaric face of terrorism”. The enemy has come to realise the implication of wiping out the “sindoor” from the forehead of our women: he said.
Operation Sindoor, which was initiated on the nights of 7th and 8th May resulted in an escalation of bilateral tensions because it caused strikes as well as counter strikes between the two countries. India and Pakistan Saturday found an agreement to enable them to cease all firing and military action on land, air and sea with effect from 5pm. Pakistan on the other hand despite the agreement contravened it in the first few hours of it taking effect.
PM’s pic in front of S-400 system at Adampur base has a message for Pakistan
Pakistan alleged that its missiles destroyed the runway of the Air Force base of Adampur in Punjab, causing the base not to be operational for the next one year. Pakistan said its China-made JF-17 fighters destroyed the Russian-made S-400 missile defence system that was installed there. Pakistan said that it had destroyed fighter planes and radar posts. Pakistan, too, said it had killed 60 Indian soldiers in its attack.

Pakistan, government sources said on Tuesday, was lying.
Sources said the Pakistan Army had relied on doctored satellite pictures of the Adampur base – which was central to foiling waves of missiles and drones that were launched last week – to make its ludicrous claims.
However, the most perfect retort may be perhaps to show Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photograph from the base this morning. the PM talked to soldiers occupying that place and saluted their courage.
The salute was also a powerful statement to Pak – the missile stack of the S-400 was in the background.
This is suspected to be the first openly published picture of a S-400 missile defence system which is the world’s best and India has three squadrons and two to follow.
PM Modi Visits Adampur
“Earlier this morning, I had visited Air Force Station (AFS) Adampur and had met our brave air warriors and soldiers. It was a very special experience to mingle with the real epitomisers of courage, determination and fearlessness”, the prime minister remarked on X.
India is eternally thankful to our armed forces for everything they do to our nation.
Officials said Mr Modi landed at Adampur (probably the runway is just fine) at 6.15 am and remained there for almost an hour. The short visit was after his address to the nation last night when he eulogised India’s soldiers for their bravery in the 100-hour missile-and-drone war against Pakistan.
The Adampur base was one of many that were attacked by Pakistan on the nights of Friday and Saturday (i.e., May 9-10) in revenge to Operation Sindoor, which became India’s military response to Pahalgam.
Besides, Pakistan forces also attacked bases in Udhampur in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, and other military installations in Rajasthan and Gujarat, as well as civilian populations of Ferozepur in the state of Punjab.

However, damage done was little, the Indian armed forces reported.
India has also reported attacks on schools and medical centers, something that Pak has denied.
Pakistan, however, made similar claims, which were dismissed by the Indian forces who said their attacks were ‘calibrated’ so as to only just disable terrorist and rival military capability.
India Shows Its Strikes On Pakistan
At the same time, satellite images have verified the effectiveness of its strikes on Pak air bases; Among them were 11, including Nur Khan Air in Rawalpindi, which is only less than 10km from Islamabad and only separated by the Army’s HQ.
Technical infrastructure, command and control centres, radar sites and weapon depots are among the facilities thus destroyed, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said in a special briefing last week.
Op Sindoor, India’s Warning
Precision strikes of Indian forces were carried out against nine terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir, an attack that the PM claimed last night described the new doctrine laid against terrorism.
The strikes led to military reprisals from Pakistan which lasted three subsequent nights before a ceasefire was effected, brokered by United States President Donald Trump.
In a 22-minute speech to the nation last night Mr Modi warned Pakistan not to test that ceasefire by saying that if necessary operation Sindoor will be re-activated.
Mr Modi also ruled out any further talks with Pakistan – whom India has long blamed for supporting cross border terrorism – unless they are over the return of PoK and de-weaponisation of terrorist capable structures in that country.
