John Krasinski is officially the People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2024. The magazine unveiled its pick, the actor-writer-director, Tuesday night during The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. This comes after the internet was somewhat baffled by the news that Benny Blanco had been declared the winner for this year.
The Sexiest Man Alive 2024
Before the Quiet Place movies and the Jack Ryan action series, Krasinski acted in The Office . He joked in an interview with the magazine that he is waiting for his wife Emily Blunt, another Hollywood actress, to stick to her words of making the cover to be a wallpaper in their house. He succeeds this year’s previous honouree who is Patrick Dempsey.
Krasinski, 45, shared his primary response to the honour with People magazine saying it was “just immediate blackout, actually. Zero thoughts.” He also said he felt that he was probably being pranked when he was talking to the fake caller.
Confusion over Benny Blanco
Before that, a picture of Benny Blanco in his house was accompanied by the words ‘Sexiest Man Alive Issue’. This has made many people think that may be he clinched the coveted title this year. This kind of news left many people on the internet amazed.
As for the offfcial winner Krasisnki, he became popular playing the part of the awkward, inept and frail Jym in the US version of the television series, a mockumentary known as ‘The Office’, before evolving into a handsome muscleman able and willing to take on the role of the Tom Clancy character Jack Ryan in the Amazon series, and has been done before on the big screen by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford.
He also wrote, directed and acted in A Quiet Place which has become a three part film series and also developed the internet series Some Good News which only aired during the Covid 19 pandemic.
Earlier this year he introduced his sixth directed picture IF, a film based on the imaginary friends and which also marked the presence of Blunt.
Together the couple has been blessed with two daughters.
He optimistic told People magazine his wife and he have been noting in the current issue on the stands Friday that the honour is likely to produce more home humour.
For all the rigmarole that it’s worth, the only thing he came up with was, “I think it’s going to make me do more household chores.”
This year is the 40th issue, the very first sexiest man of the issue was Mel Gibson. Other past recipients are Brad Pitt, George Clooney, John F Kennedy Jr, David Beckham, Michael B Jordan, John Legend, Dwayne Johnson, Paul Rudd and Pierce Brosnan.

It became a little unclear as to which one of the two, Krasinski or Blanco, was at that point being crowned as the Sexiest Man Alive when People magazine was announced to be the Sexiest Man Alive for 2024. The two first got in a little argument, but Tucci was eventually convinced when John Krasinski was declared to be MTV’s sexiest man alive.

Although everyone watching star Krasinski could cheer themselves and at the same time relieved there was no mistake in their choice the actor just deserved the honour and was equally humble towards it.
Whereas some fans happy that the star of the Office has triumphed, other do not particularly thrilled as expected to notice that the 45-year old Hollywood star got the nod over other established placeholders.
They were saying ‘ John Krasinski sexiest man alive’. “Hmmmm I’m not sure” one of the fans comment and another fumed, “Worse than Benny Blanco… like giving it to a slice of bread.” The other disappointed fan has this to say, “I didn’t sleep the whole day for this bulls**t.”
Not all the reactions were negative in nature. Everyone else joined in with good comments such as this one: Oh come be nice, I think he’s sexy… maybe not sexiest… but he is smart and funny’. Another user also said, “I can totally go with this pick.”
Even Krasinski confessed to People that at first, he was sure he was ‘being punked,’ and so were his fans and critics. Joining his wife Emily Blunt to share her reaction to the new title Krasinski said that she was excited with the new title as well.
