During Question Hour sessions the Minister produced evidence from the Supreme Court to defend NEET (UG) results and announced that the administration had requested CBI to launch investigations and filed five charge sheets against 45 parties involved in the paper leak case.

Majumdar outlined that the government enacted the ‘Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024’ while carrying out several K Radhakrishnan committee guidelines.

The Modi administration remains dedicated to ensure examination systems remain free from corruption. The Modi administration has promised to stop all kinds of unlawful activity while maintaining a corruption-free examination system he declared.

The Supreme Court recently declared that no examination system suffers from leaks according to his claim. The Supreme Court has already delivered its decision regarding such matters so any declaration of leakage constitutes disrespect toward its judicial power.

The government will prosecute all those individuals who obtained their success through unfair exam procedures Majumdar announced.

The new Act contains provisions which enable us to penalize people who attempt to break examination system security. Majumdar stated we are working on building a safer examination system which will prevent unauthorized access to our assessment process.

The minister predicted that the Radhakrishnan committee recommendations complete implementation would minimize cheating incidents according to him.

The statement from Dharmendra Pradhan came out as he disclosed that a few reports emerged about misconduct and cheating actions during the NEET(UG) 2024 Examination.

The ministry agreed for the CBI to perform an extensive investigation which covered all the claims of wrongdoing related to NEET(UG) 2024 Examination through conspiracy and cheating alongside breach of trust.

According to Pradhan there are 45 defendants facing charges in five filed CBI documents regarding the NEET(UG) paper theft incident through November 21, 2024.

He reported that both candidate beneficiaries and impersonators as well as MBBS students who solved or participated in theft papers were properly identified and then forwarded to appropriate authorities for proper action.

A High-Level Committee of Experts (HLCE) was formed on June 22, 2024 by the ministry to provide recommendations for effective measures in examination management by NTA under the leadership of K Radhakrishnan who is a former ISRO chairman along with serving as IIT Kanpur Board of Governors Chair.

    NTA Recommendations

The committee issued its final report on October 21, 2024 to reform the National Common Entrance Testing by recommending the enhancement of NTA functions and establishing institutional connections between states and contracting Test Indenting Agencies to serve as Knowledge and Examinations partners and more.

The appointed panel established preventive procedures and created standard operating procedures (SOPs) to stop examination breaches during Pen and Paper Test (PPT) and Computer Based Test (CBT).

The creation of a high-powered steering committee follows the committee recommendations to monitor NTA implementation while this committee already exists as constituted.
