A public outbreak occurred when Suparno Satpathy revealed that Rewort products contained photographic images of Mahatma Gandhi.
On the X platform Satpathy made an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to speak with Russian officials about this matter concerning Gandhi’s face used in cans.
I request Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss this matter with his Russian friend KremlinRussia_E. The Russian beer company Rewort markets its product Beer under the image of Gandhiji according to Satpathy in his X post caption.

The online distribution of beer can images led different social media users to launch severe criticism due to what they saw as a disrespectful brand. Social media users described this action as “shocking” and “unacceptable” and referred to it as a disrespectful show toward India.
The outrage reached the threshold where users started advocating for filing a case at the International Court of Justice to ban Rewort entirely. The Prime Minister should use Parliamentary sessions to address this problem and conduct televised debates regarding it.
