Infosys News: IT firm Infosys terminated 700 brand-new employees from its Mysuru office according to Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) which represents IT workers. The union reported that Infosys conducted premature termination of recently on-boarded freshers.
According to NITES the freshers who were terminated must sign confidentiality agreements which the organization believes represents an effort to conceal details about their layoffs.
Infosys Terminated Employees
According to NITES president Harpreet Singh Saluja the technology services provider Infosys performs ethnic terminations of approximately 700 recent graduates that joined less than four months ago.
NITES reported that “bouncers and security personnel” joined the termination process to create a frightening atmosphere among employees.

The staff members received restrictions about mobile phone usage because the company wanted to prevent them from documenting the events or seeking assistance according to Mr Saluja.
The labor union represents concerns regarding both the unexpected nature of group dismissals as well as their effects on those staff who lost their jobs.
According to Infosys the freshers who faced termination did not succeed in passing multiple assessments which constitute regular onboarding requirements.

The assessment has three attempts for freshers before they can no longer continue their employment at the organization according to their contract. Infosys has operated this employee assessment process for longer than twenty years according to their official statement.
The company maintains these assessment requirements serve the purpose of maintaining candidate standards for employment retention.
The NITES union plans to make an official complaint to the Ministry of Labour and Employment which seeks immediate intervention against Infosys and enforced action.
“This blatant corporate exploitation cannot be allowed to continue, and we urge the government to take swift action to uphold the rights and dignity of Indian IT workers,” said Mr Saluja.
