Indian students US visa rate has declined sharply in the US Universities. In the wake of the current crisis between the Trump administration and the international students, foreign education consultants in the city of Hyderabad have reported a plummeting of 70 per cent in the outbound traffic. This slump is an effect of the continued freeze on visa slots and the recent surge in the rate of rejection of visas.

Reason for Rejection of US Visa

The Hyderabad-based US Consulate General said that slots are now open again and that students can see the embassy or the site to know about availability of appointment slots. We are also ensuring visa applicants are vetted in full, to ascertain that they are not intending to do harm to America or our interests and that the said applicants are establishing their eligibility to such a visa with a credible claim to such visa and also intending activities within the terms of their admission in a genuine manner.
How to Prevent US Student Visa Rejection?
Before students apply, we would like to advise them to apply as early as they can and that are likely to take more time to process these types of visas, said the US Consulate General Hyderabad spokesperson.
India last year had surpassed China and sent more than 3.3 lakh students to the United States.
That is why as per the information released by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) as on January 1, 2024, there were more than 11.6 lakh Indian students across the world studying higher education systems at the offshore locations and the figure had consistently been increasing in respect of Europe as a destination as well.
