On Saturday, October 7, former UK prime minister Rishi Sunak visited the Taj Mahal with his family.
In a high-security detour, Sunak was escorted to the monument by his wife Akshata Murty, mother-in-law Sudha Murty, and his two daughters, Krishna and Anoushka.

“What a breathtaking visit. The Taj Mahal is one of those few places in the world that can unite. Our kids will never forget seeing this… We are extremely grateful for the warmth of their hospitality. It was an unforgettable experience for our entire family. Thank you,” he wrote.
Akshata Murty, his wife, also had this to say about the experience: “A memory for the ages”.

The throng had now swelled massively.
Rishi Sunak and his family waved to the crowds and greeted them with folded hands.
Rishi Sunak, who was in India, had earlier, on February 2, 2023, watched the 5th and final T20I match of the series between India and England at the celebrated Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Earlier that same day, Former PM Sunak had engaged in a game of “tennis ball cricket”.
“No trip to Mumbai is complete without a game of tennis ball cricket,” he wrote on X.
On February 1, Rishi Sunak was seen attending the Jaipur Literature Festival along with his wife Akshata Murthy and in-laws Sudha Murthy and Narayan Murthy.
Rishi Sunak served as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from October 2022 to July 2024.
He had earlier held the office of Chancellor of the Exchequer from February 2020 to July 2022. From July 2019 to February 2020, he was Chief Secretary to the Treasury and, from January 2018 to July 2019, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.
Prior to his career in politics, Rishi Sunak had spent time working in business and finance across the globe; he was a co-founder of an investment firm with clients across jurisdictions.
He went to Winchester College before reading Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Oxford University. He was also a Fulbright Scholar at Stanford University, USA, earning himself an MBA.
