Beyonce and P. Diddy conspiracy: The music industry heavyweight Sean “Diddy” Combs (P Diddy) has been charged with serious allegations of sex trafficking and abuse. Lawsuits reveal disturbing accounts of exploitation, while societal desensitization and memes undermine the gravity of these issues and the plight of victims.
Trigger warning: Mention of sexual assault and rape
Music in the hip-hop industry originated as a cultural rebellion born under the influence of the Black Panthers but, politically, becomes hollow and morally degenerate. Unrestrained powers and enigmatic influence seep through the music record labels and continue to shape the sounds we hear today and the faces we idolise. Even our favorite celebrities, too imprudent and decadent in their desperation for power and money, often support such anarchic power structures that continue the vicious cycle of exploitation and corruption.

Sean “Diddy” Combs, rapper and music mogul who has been credited with launching the careers of some of the biggest names in the music industry through his record label ‘Bad Boy Records’ and built a monopolist empire of his own in the music industry, was arrested last September in sex trafficking and racketeering charges with federal prosecutors alleging that Combs and his associates threatened, abused and coerced women, minors and others around him “to fulfill his sexual desires.”
It also included forcing victims into engaging in recorded sexual activity, which he referred to as “Freak Offs.” On October 1, The Los Angeles Times reported, more than 100 people have planned to file lawsuits against Combs, alleging sexual abuse and exploitation.
However, by 14th October, six more lawsuits were filed, mostly by victims who were sexually assaulted by Combs when they were minors. Throughout his career, Combs has been associated with several conspiracy theories and is being accused of several charges. In the year 2003, his clothing brand, Sean John was alleged to have violated Honduran labor laws as the factories are based in Honduras. According to the National Labour Committee, he forced his workers to work overtime and gave them sweatshop wages.
The same year, in 2017, he was sued for sexual harassment by his chef whom the lawsuit was settled with in a manner that would not be publicly documented. However since the singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura that boyfriend Diddy dated sometime previously filed a lawsuit against him in November of 2023, much defamation emerged against him.
Casandra met Combs in 2005 when she was 19 years old and went under his label. In her lawsuit, Ms D’Amelio claims that Diddy used his position of power to “set the groundwork” for a “manipulative and coercive romantic and sexual relationship.” She also accused the musician of sexual abuse and rape, and of having many of these incidents occur in the presence of his “tremendously loyal network,” who “were not willing to do anything meaningful” to stop the violence.
They settled out of court, amount undisclosed, a day after the suit was filed in New York. The series of sexual assault cases, though traces its origin to 1991. The woman, suing anonymously, claimed Diddy-assisted by another man-promised her drugs and money and pressured her into various sex acts. Perhaps most disturbingly, Joi Dickerson-Neal filed a complaint in another case that the artist drugged and raped her when she was a college student back in 1991; she also alleged that he took a video of the incident and sent it around to other people.
A third lawsuit, filed by Liza Gardner against Diddy, accused the rapper and another man of sexually assaulting the plaintiff and her friend more than thirty years ago, when she was 16. All of these lawsuits were filed within days of the deadline for the New York Adult Survivors Act. The act allows plaintiffs to pursue civil lawsuits, even after statute of limitations have run.
Prosecutors in the indictment say that Combs and his co-conspirators allegedly moved sex workers across state lines, which defines sex trafficking and transportation, to engage in prostitution and allegedly drugged women to keep them “obedient and compliant.” U.S. attorney Damien Williams said Sean Combs led and participated in a racketeering conspiracy that used the business empire he controlled to carry out criminal activity, including sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice.
He further said there are three central counts with which Diddy has been charged: racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. In the raid conducted on Combs’ houses last March, investigators apparently managed to seize over 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant and other items referred to as “Freak Off supplies,” the indictment said. The discoveries included firearms and their ammunition, among them “three AR-15 rifles with defaced serial numbers.”.
The ‘Thank You Beyonce’ theory
The internet has revived “Thanking Beyoncé” as a meme after allegations of a close relationship surfaced between diddy and beyonce. As different conspiracy theories begin to spin, one concerning the involvement of Beyonce and Jay-Z in killing a spate of big-name artists is gaining traction on the internet. There are speculations that this couple may be associated with such tragic ends for icons like Aaliyah and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, and even with Michael Jackson, since they did not belong to the powerful trio of interests, among whom was Sean Combs (P. Diddy).
What was a conspiracy theory has now become a trend, where everyone’s seeing it, all thanks to Beyonce. It all began when in social media, it looked like celebrity artists were appearing in accepting speeches after a nomination mainly to thank Beyonce. Although the artists involved did not collaborate with Beyonce in the same project for which they received an award, the many artists still took their speech during acceptance to voice out appreciation and admiration for the singer. This has been the case especially on the Grammy Awards.
During the 2017 Grammy Awards, English singer-songwriter Adele thanked Beyonce as she accepted the Album of the Year award. Adele did not feel deserving of the award, as she acknowledged that Beyonce’s album titled Lemonade was also nominated in the same category. During her acceptance speech, the singer-songwriter stated, “I can’t possibly accept this award, and I’m very humbled, and I’m very grateful and gracious, but the artist of my life is Beyoncé,” Adele said.
That was in 2023 when American rapper and singer Lizzo thanked Beyonce after winning Record of the Year. At the same time, Beyonce’s song called Break My Soul was also nominated in the same category. During her speech, Lizzo reflected on her first Destiny’s Child concert and how she was enamored by Beyonce’s vocals. “I was like, ‘I want to make people feel this way with my music.’ So thank you so much,” Lizzo expressed.
Celebrities such as Megan Thee Stallion, Lady Gaga and even Britney Spears mention Beyonce at multiple award stages.
These seemingly innocent acceptance speeches of late are now becoming a maligned narrative against Beyonce, having questioned her character and her powerful position in the industry of music.
It is hard to pinpoint why the public wanted this response; however, conspiracy theorists believe celebrities praise Beyonce in their acceptance speeches as they know the enormous power she wields within the music industry, and they want to continue being in the good books of the public.
However, many feel that the sudden displeasure for Beyonce is skewed with the Sean Combs case.
Video news clips are emphasizing the interestingly frequent times the celebrities are seen thanking Beyoncé and Jay-Z in award events, although they are not directly connected with the event. Adele acknowledges Beyoncé during her acceptance speech in 2017 at the Grammys and Britney Spears does the same by giving a tribute to the couple during the 2023 People’s Choice Awards. Fans have thus started speculating on whether the couple is influential enough in the entertainment industry.
Old footage of Combs with Justin Bieber, when the latter was still a minor, has also emerged. In one of the footage, Sean Diddy said that he spent 48 hours with Justin, which he referred to as a ’15-year-old’s dream’.
All of these allegations against Combs are disgusting and agonizingly ghastly. The details of the 1,000 bottles of baby oil hit social media and for absolutely different reasons. Too many memes about the incident blurred the seriousness of it all. The standard moral paralysis in the face of such victims betrays a more basic obscuring of morals within our society as a whole. We are just trampled into the never-ending cycle of exploitation and dulled by the constant barrage of media we have stooped so low as to make levity our survival instinct. We’re letting the real predator slip through the cracks by reducing this heinous crime to internet fodder on the same plane as the Epstein Island case. End.
8 conspiracy theories surrounding the P. Diddy controversy
She knows, she knows
If you’ve ever found yourself wondering what J. Cole’s 2013 song “She Knows” has to do with the current scandal surrounding P Diddy, take a deep breath, because TikTok sleuths discovered an apparent hidden meaning within the lyrics of the song-one that mainly references deceased superstars Michael Jackson, Aaliyah and Left Eye. Of course, knowing rappers’ proclivity for callouts in their lyrics.
A viral conspiracy theory postulates that Jay-Z, Beyonce, and Diddy are seemingly the killers behind the murders of Michael Jackson, Aaliyah, and Left Eye. And to prove that, some say these are the words of “She Knows”, that continue, “Rest in peace to Aaliyah / Rest in peace to Left Eye (Left Eye) / Michael Jackson, I’ll see ya / Just as soon as I die (I die).” And aside from that, theorists also argue that “She knows” is, in fact a replacement for “She Knowles” where Knowles is the maiden name of Beyonce.
The theory further goes on and has suggested that Jackson’s security guard had earlier worked for Diddy, and it was at the same delay to call for help which made him die at such an untimely stage. But wait, this conspiracy theory starts off good-and-godly strong, then tanks fast into tinfoil hat territory. Then the perps tout an “interesting coincidence,” whereby the victims Jackson, Aaliyah, and Left Eye all died on the 25th day of different months, and the supposed culprits were all born on the 4th day of different months. As if that’s significant.
Thanks, Beyoncé.
Diddy’s arrest has thrown shadows on his would-be co-conspirators. The list is not short of several A-list celebrities-most notably the Carters, Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
Perhaps at the top of the many misconceptions surrounding Beyoncé lies the completely absurd accusation that the singer wields some sort of magical power to destroy or cripple perceived competition.
Proponents of the conspiracy theory go so far as to say that Aaliyah had to be murdered for Beyoncé to achieve success. It presupposes also that the world-wide involvement by the Carters in her death is an open secret and results in the tertiary undercurrent of fear within aspiring artists.
Was Kanye West saving Taylor Swift?
Further drawing from the conspiracy that stars who rise to prominence must sing Beyonce’s praises, a viral theory on TikTok now posits that Kanye West is a hero. We’re unconvinced, but the details are thus: When Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift on-stage at the 2009 MTV VMAs to declare that “Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time,” he was doing it to save Swift from the evil clutches of the Carters.
Whether this is true or not will only be known in time. However, with West’s well-known temper and propensity for drama, it’s safe to assume that he was simply reckless and callous.
Ties to the death of Tupac?
All the way back in the 1990s, Diddy was caught up in beef at the center of himself and Marion Hugh ‘Suge’ Knight, with the latter’s Death Row Records squaring off against Diddy’s Bad Boy Records. As the myth has it, Tupac Shakur, who was signed with Death Row had accused Diddy and Bad Boy flagship artist Biggie of masterminding a shooting and robbery, which did on November 30 1994. Beef dragged on, with tensions hot and simmering beneath the surface for two long years; then, on September 13 1996, Tupac was fatally shot on the Las Vegas strip while in a car driven by Suge Knight.
Six months later, his former friend Biggie was shot and murdered as he was leaving a Los Angeles party after attending the 1997 Soul Train Awards. In the wake of Diddy’s arrest rumors regarding his possible links to the sleazy death of Tupac resurfaced once more.
Former LAPD homicide detective Greg Kading, appearing on the Daily Mail podcast The Trial of Diddy, told how Combs was connected to members of Crips street gang and Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis, in addition to Orlando ‘Baby Lane’ Anderson. According to Keefe D, the one who shot at Tupac and Suge Knight, killing the latter, was Baby Lane. 30 years later in 2023, Keefe D himself was caught for his association with the Tupac murder, and now claims that Diddy had promised him USD 1 million for the assassination.
Until October 2024, the family of Tupac Shakur has hired New York attorney Alex Spiro to delve into the alleged connections between P. Diddy and the murder of the star.
Forty eight hours with Justin Bieber
It was in the year 2009 that P. Diddy and Justin Bieber finally got to know each other. The latter was only 15 at the time. Braun discovered Bieber only a year ago, after which the young lad was signed up with RBMG Records, guided by Usher. Interestingly enough, Usher himself was once under the tutelage of Diddy as a teenager, and this chain of events led to the making of what would someday serve as the foundation for abuse that transcends generations of artists.
Bieber initially contacted the rap mogul on X in an effort to get a collaboration-hope he was not one among the many hoping, as it has paid off. Young artist soon appeared in several pictures with Diddy and reportedly took out for a spin his Lamborghini in 2010 and attended several of his parties in the after years. Coping with the demands of newfound celebrity status proved difficult for the “Baby” singer, and signs of drug abuse soon began to surface, signalling a decline in his mental welfare. With the arrest and indictment of Diddy, conspiracy theories have suffused the internet, with Beliebers claiming that Bieber had fallen victim to the darker side of Diddy’s business empire.
This is supported by several video interviews, wherein Diddy was seen to command and impose control over the then still-teenage Bieber. In a recently leaked video taken at Jimmy Kimmel Live, Diddy and Bieber joke about their friendship when the former says Bieber was “like a little brother.” However, Diddy made eyebrows raise when he responded to Bieber’s claim that he had received a Lamborghini as a present with a statement saying, “He had the Lamborghini for a day or two and he had access to the house”. And he should know better than to go speaking of what he does with big brother Puff on national television. Everything ain’t for everybody”.
Diddy also hinted at more hours with Bieber in other viral footages-with some unheard of but shady-looking activities on the list. “He’s having 48 hours with Diddy, where we are hanging out and what we’re doing we can’t really disclose. But it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream. I don’t have legal guardianship of him, but for the next 48 hours, he’s with me, and we’re gonna go full crazy.”.
Murder, he wrote
In 2018, Diddy’s on-again-off-again girlfriend and the mother of his three children Kim Porter was found dead in her Los Angeles home. The 47-year-old model had started dating Diddy in the 90s; the two carried a series of break-ups and reconciliations throughout early 2000s only to ultimately part ways for good in 2007. Porter was reportedly suffering from a cold and pneumonia before her death and succumbed to that.
Emerging in the wake of Diddy’s legal troubles was a conspiracy theory that the rapper had his former lover murdered. Theorists claim that Diddy ordered the hit on Porter because he knew that she was writing a tell-all memoir to his bad reputation that she was going to publish weeks before she died. With a memoir potentially revealing some unsavory details about him and his time with her, the idea is that Diddy had the call made to protect his image in the public’s eye. Adding further credence to this theory, a series of entries from a diary titled Kim’s Forgotten Words were released online. But there’s no evidence to suggest that they actually came from Porter’s hand.
Usher’s X wiped
Usher is said to have been mentored and guided by Diddy for a long time. They met for the first time in the 90s, when LA Reid signed Usher on to LaFace and Arista and sent him to New York to live with Diddy for a year. Usher was just 13 at that time.
Talking to Rolling Stone in 2004, the singer recalled his year with Diddy, pointing out that Diddy had “a totally different set of sh–t — sex, specifically.” Later in 2016, the singer had another chat with Howard Stern, where he once more opens up about his time spent with Diddy and reveals there were “very curious things taking place” within the rap mogul’s home.
“I don’t know if I could indulge and understand what I was even looking at. It was pretty wild.” However, asked if he would allow his own children to attend ‘Diddy Camp’, Usher responded with a resounding “Hell no.”
Just days after Diddy was arrested, Usher’s entire X feed vanished and massive speculation erupted among conspiracy theorists claiming that some sort of social media purge was underway. But Usher eventually cleared everything up, Tweeting his explanation: “Account got hacked and d–mn y’all ran with it!”
Bennifer is dead
Not only rappers and musicians take the brunt of the Diddy fall. A new conspiracy theory sprouted in P Diddy controversy to this time-the subject is his former girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez. According to the rumor, its source is his 90s hip-hop opponent-Suge Knight.
Speaking on his podcast Collect Call with Suge Knight, which he cohosts with his son, Suge made a few revelations regarding Jennifer Lopez’s recent announcement to divorce Air actor Ben Affleck.
Suge alleged that Lopez knew of Diddy’s involvement in many criminal activities, including the 2001 nightclub shooting. He also goes on to say that the FBI found tapes of Lopez doing this and doing that when they busted Diddy’s crib, which puts her guilt in Diddy’s doings into question as well. Suge also thinks that the evidence was presented to Affleck by the FBI when they said, “We want to show you some things about your wife.”.
If Suge is to be trusted, it is Diddy’s criminal activities and Lopez’s alleged complicity in the murder of Bennifer that sowed the seeds of that demise. Still, there can never be any solid proof of Suge’s claims since some netizens were quick to shoot them down by saying that federal investigators would not readily share evidence without cause.
