Deepika has been included in the list of honorees in the 2026 Class of Hollywood Walk of Fame in Motion Pictures category. The list was announced live at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and Deepika was listed among the international icons like Demi Moore, Rachel McAdams, Emily Blunt, Timothi Chalamet, Rami Malek, and Stanley Tucci.

It becomes an honour that is first granted to Deepika, an Indian actress. Prior to this, an Indian name had been put in the Walk of fame in Hollywood not before 2025, which was last done in 1960. He was called Sabu Dastagir, the son of an elephant mahout picked by an American film director Robert Flaherty to star in his film titled- Elephant Boy (1937), an adaptation of a book by Sir Rudyard Kipling. In the past, Mindy Kaling was the initial South Asian lady to be given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Deepika appeared in the last episode of Kalki 2898 AD. Her next release is Atlee film alongside Allu Arjun.

Her success draws a historical milestone in the Indian cinema field, and it highlights her impact on the global scale, particularly xXx: Return of Xander Cage in 2017, her first movie in Hollywood.
The panel in charge of the Hollywood Walk of Fame representatives went through hundreds of nominations before the selection was concluded during a meeting on June 20.
Hollywood Chamber of Commerce approved the selections on June 25.
In a statement, Peter Roth, the former CEO of Warner Bros. Television and the chairman of the Walk of Fame selection committee said, “We are thrilled to unveil the latest choices of 35 fabulous names of some of the most high-profile people who will be included in the glorious Class of 2026 on the Walk of Fame.”
He further said that these exceptional individuals have contributed immensely to the field of entertainment and they are very happy to give them this much deserved honour.
The name Deepika is very special to the Indian film industry because it is the first Indian actress to earn such an award.
Sabu Dastagir, an Indian-origin legendary actor, is the only Indian name preceding hers on Walk of Fame and he got the star 1960.
Other than her legendary appearance in Bollywood, Deepika Padukone has achieved an international status and therefore it was found that she made a remarkable appearance in events like the Cannes Film Festival or the Met Gala.
Earlier this year, she was also featured in TIME’s 100 Most Influential People list and Variety’s International Women’s Impact Report.
Alongside Padukone, other notable figures such as Miley Cyrus, Gordon Ramsay, and Rachel McAdams will also be celebrated with a star in the coming year.
