Bihar News: “That was a baffling reaction from Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to the latest “doors open” statement by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on rejoining the opposition INDIA bloc.
Bihar News on Lalu Yadav’s Statement on Nitish Kumar
Kumar was approached by reporters, who asked how he would react to Mr. Yadav’s comment, and folded his arms, smiled, and said in a curt tone, “Kya bol rahe hain (What are you saying?)”.
This follows Mr Yadav’s statement during an interview, where he said, “Our doors are open for Nitish Kumar. He should also unbolt his gates. This would facilitate movement of people from both sides.”

The Mr Yadav statement then set fire to new speculations in Bihar over renewed ties between the two anointed political heavyweights, the “bada bhai, chhota bhai” (big brother, little brother) of Bihar politics.
In fact, Mr Yadav’s overture to Mr Kumar comes in and amid a bad history-the Chief of the Janata Dal (United), Mr Kumar, has formed ties with the RJD twice in the decade, further building on their most recent association as part of the Mahagathbandhan before reverting to support the BJP-led NDA in 2024.
How CM Reacted on Lalu Yadav’s Statement
Tejashwi Yadav, who is the newly elected Chief Minister of Bihar, claimed that his “benediction” regarding his father would serve to “satisfy media’s curiosity.”
Speaking to journalists at the swearing-in ceremony of the new Bihar Governor, Arif Mohammad Khan, Tejashwi Yadav said, “What else would he (Lalu Yadav) say? He was simply addressing your questions.”
However, Tejashwi added that the end of the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar, who he claims to hold as “captive” to a small circle of advisors and incapable of running Bihar on his own, will come by New Year.
The Union Minister and JD(U) leader Lalan Singh uttered statements of strong denial of Lalu Yadav’s remarks. “NDA is very strong. JD(U) and BJP combo. People say whatever they want to say-it is a free country,” he said.
That stirred up the comment by Lalu
This statement by Lalu Yadav has created waves in the political arena of Bihar because the RJD chief is termed as one grand master of Bihar politics. This was the reason for heating the market of speculation after this offer made by Lalu.
Although Tejashwi Yadav had already declared that the RJD doors are shut for uncle Nitish, but Lalu’s latest statement once again rekindled the political fire. When he said “You keep asking him this, what else would he say? He said this only to calm you all down.”

“What are you saying, just leave it,” said Nitish Kumar to reporters when asked for his reaction.
Confusion reigns in RJD
At present, as far as the current politics are concerned, there is a kind of ambiguity about Nitish in RJD. On one hand, Lalu has put forward a proposal to help Nitish Kumar join hands, while on the other side under the fire of Tejashwi.
Tejashwi has stated that 2025 shall prove to be a year for saying goodbye to Nitish Kumar and a new government will be formed in the new year in Bihar. Terming Nitish Kumar as a tired leader, ‘He is Tired’. He added: “You sow the seed of one brand in the field for 20 years; the field will be ruined; thus, the time has come to sow a new seed of a new brand in the field.”
