The life of Sneha Enrique Vidal 21 years of age has come around to predestination as she left Odisha ,India to be adopted by a couple from Spain fifteen years later the she comes back in search of her true origin.
Sneha and her brother Somu were thrown out of their home by their mother Banalata Das in April 2005 and sent to an orphanage in Bhubaneswar. In 2010 they were taken by Gema Vidal and Juan Josh, a Spanish couple who gave them and chances that they could not even dream of.
Now a researcher in children’s education, Sneha has very scarce knowledge about her previous life but she needs to know about it. The story of a Spanish man travelling to Bhubaneswar was to trace his birth parents especially his mother.
I want to meet her and that’s why am more than ready to take whatever consequences and risks that come with it I said this to PTI news agency.
Sneha shares good words about the parents who adopted her education them a lot about unconditional love and care. “They have responded to all of our needs and have never given us that feeling of being adopted,” she said and said her parents offered her and Somu the best education any parent could offer.
Sneha and her adopted mother Gema have been in Bhubaneswar since December 19 constantly looking for some details about Sneha’s family. Somu could not join them because she had business to attend to in Spain, but the two women are not to be discouraged.
That, however, is in the eye of the beholder With time running out, these companies are under pressure. Gema said to PTI, “We have to go back to Spain because Sneha has joined a training programme which cannot be withdrawn midway.”
If we are unable to track down Banalata in the next 24 hours we will revisit Bhubaneswar in the month of March.
The progress they have made has however not been touched by the sordid side of pragmatism. Rama Devi Women’s University retired teacher Sneha Sudha Mishra and Commissioner of Police Dev Datta Singh have extended their support.
Another police personnel Anjali Chhotray and Gangadhar Pradhan have also helped in tracking the biological parents of Sneha believed to have come from Badamba-Narisnghpur of Cuttack district.
Inspector Chhotray was also keen to report that there was progress is the search. From this we have established that Banalata Das who is the wife to Santosh is also from the area. I had few Pero, the country has police and panchayat functionaries to track them down she said PTI.
Sneha and Gema flew to Bhubaneswar on 19/12/15, and they have been living at a hotel since then. Somu can not join them as he had some official businesses to attend in Spain. They have until Monday to look for Sneha’s biological mother; if they fail, they will return to India and stay there until March.
“We have to go back to Spain because Sneha has enrolled her in a program she cannot afford to drop. If we fail to find a trace of Banalata within the next 24 hours, we will start from Bhubaneswar again in March,” Gema said.
In the course of this long search in Bhubaneswar Gema and Sneha came across Sneha Sudha Mishra a retired teacher of Rama Devi Women’s University who helped them ascertain the names of Sneha’s birth parents.
Police Commissioner Dev Datta singh provided Sneha and Gema additional police personnel Anjali Chhotray and Gangadhar Pradhan to locate Das and her husband, Santosh, who was an absconder with his six member family.
“In course of the investigation we have been able to understand the identity of the two, Banalata Das and Santosh are from Badamba-Narsinghpur in Cuttack district.” Chhotray said the police and panchayat officials have been asked to find them, she told PTI.
