Shahid Kapoor open to Jab We Met sequel if he is offered a ‘good story’
Actor Shahid Kapoor has stated that he is open to working on Jab We Met 2 if someone “comes up with a story,” he said at the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA) 2025 on Sunday, a day after breaking the internet by sharing a hug with ex-lover and co-star Kareena Kapoor Khan.
The two ex-lovers were together from 2004 to 2007, and the hug shared between them created a spree of rumor-mongering regarding a sequel to their previously popular film.
“Beta I’m an actor, he is a director and writer, so ask them,” Shahid told the media in reply to a question regarding a Jab We Met sequel possibility.
He, however, lent an ear agog to possibilities. “It’s a fantastic film and if somebody comes with a story, then why not? We can always be a part too,” the Farzi actor said.
Regarding his viral moment with Kareena, Shahid maintains while that hug might be the first public embrace in years, they have always greeted each other warmly and called it a “normal” gesture.
