The supernova from BLACKPINK, Lisa, has made a sudden noise with his debut solo album Alter Ego without any doubt that this album is one of the most discussed albums across many music circles this year. With numerous power-packed collaborations-be it that of Doja Cat, Raye, Rosalía, Megan Thee Stallion, Future, or Tyla-it is clear that the Thai rapper-singer actress knows how to choose her musical partners.
But in a recent interview with Wall Street Journal Style, Lisa admitted that there is another name she has been really eyeing for a long time and would love to collaborate with in the near future: British pop queen Charli XCX.
When she was asked about who she would really want to work with, LISA didn’t sit there a second before saying “Charli XCX!” and then did a wonderful snippet of Charli’s viral Apple dance. Thai rapper/singer is clearly a fan; she smiled and added, “I want to be one of the Brats,” referring to Charli’s iconic Brat album. If Lisa and Charli ever collaborated, you’d see some high-octane, ground-breaking fiery magic where Charli’s high experimental pop sound meets LISA’s ultra-smooth charisma.
Just after Alter Ego was released-the very album through which LISA showed her versatility and capability of collaboration with some of the hottest names in music today-Come unique tracks like Rapunzel, featuring Megan Thee Stallion; Fxck Up the World, with Future; and there isn’t much need to state that Lisa is all set for a duet with fellow superstars.
Let’s not forget about the heat-spewing sultry “When I’m With You” with Tyla, the song that made itself an instant fan favorite.
It is indeed a single venture for LISA. However, it is going to be all the more exciting for her when she meets up with her BLACKPINK bandmates-Rose, Jisoo, and Jennie-for a world tour set to begin in July.
Each member has spent the last year working on personal projects, and for Lisa, this consisted of a record-breaking acting stint in HBO’s The White Lotus. Still, it is hard to believe all that has gone solo for Lisa while not looking forward to all the rejuvenating Blackpink magic that will happen all over again in stages around the world.
