India vs Australia 1st Test Highlights Day 1:
The highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy first test match was a great start, cricket fans could not have asked for a better start of this session. With 17 wickets falling on the first day of play between India and Australia was an absolute classic of a low-scoring test match. On Day 1: Australia was going into stumps at 67/7 and they found themselves in a world of trouble despite wreaking havoc with the ball in the early part of day’s play at the optus stadium in perth. From here their backs were against the wall and Alex Carey was trying to hold the team together by making some crucial runs.
India got off to a terrible start in their first innings as Jaiswal got dismissed wafting loosely at a ball outside off stump and caught at gully. And before that Padikkal feathered through a thin edge to Carey behind the stumps. In the first innings, Virat Kohli fell to a short delivery from Hazlewood with a bouncer climbing up on him and looping a simple catch through to the slips cordon.
After that, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant tried to reconstruct the innings, Rahul was given out by the third umpire in contentious circumstances and India continued to lose wickets after that. However, Pant’s wicket against the run of play flipped the advantage back to Australia’s favor when India was trying to make some quick runs.
