Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: The train is fully air-conditioned and consists of 16 coaches, accommodating up to 820 passengers.
The production house of Vande Bharat train, Integral Coach Factory (ICF) located at Chennai is already preparing for the introduction of the sleeper variant of the train. As part of the new images, the public was shown interiors of the train, its exquisite design and enhanced elements.
This new variation forms part of the Vande Bharat range that also has chair car types and metro trains. Intended for overnight journeys, Vande Bharat sleeper will likely run on routes up to 1,200 km in distance and over.
Vande Bharat Sleeper Train
In order to provide comfort and safety to the passengers the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train has several features. The train is fully air conditioned, that of having sixteen coaches with a carrying capacity of up to eight hundred and twenty passengers. Travel time when using the new train will considerably be improved since it operates at 160 kilometres per hour.
Mr U Subba Rao of ICF, General Manager also exposed features of the new Vande Bharat sleeper that distinguished it from conventional trains.

Talk-Back Units: These units enhance passengers and train attendants’ interaction.
Flight-Style Attendant Buttons: Sitting in first-class compartments, these buttons can open free access to the top bunks.
Safety measures
The thirteen coaches of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train include the emergency brake system as one of the security features. The train also carries the ”Kavach” anti collision system and anti climbing in which the coaches do not end up on top of each other if a collision occurs.
Testing phase
But the train has not been officially introduced yet; that is why it will be tested constantly. In the next two months, it will be tested with the speed varying from 90 kmph to 180 kmph with special focus on its safe and secure testing. This testing will be carried out at Lucknow RDSO and separately at Western Railway; the testing should be completed by November 15.
