According to PTI report, “Laapataa Ladies” will be India’s entry in the Oscar race this year.The committee of the Film Federation of India has decided that ‘Laapata Ladies’ will be the official entry in the list of 29 films.
Films like ‘Animal’ and ‘Item’ were also included in this list. The first screening of lapata Ladies was held in Toronto last year where it was highly praised .Kiran Rao’s film was released on limited screens in March 2024 where it got a good audience.
According to reports, this film, made with a low budget of Rs 5 crore, has made a world wide collection of Rs 25 crore. Nitanshi Goyal, Pratibha Ranata, Sparsh Shrivatastav, Chhaya Kadam and Ravi Kishan have received a lot of praise for this excellent film.Directed Kiran Rao has also been praised for his film based on the sensitive topic of women.

Lapata Ladies is a film produced by Aamir Khan. This film is made by his ex wife Kiran Rao who is the co-producer.
This is the fourth film produced by Aamir Khan which has received India’s official entry in the Oscar race.
The film ‘Lagaan’, released in 2001, is the first film produced by Aamir Khan which was sent by India in the Oscar list. After this, his production films ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and ‘Peepli Life’ were also selected for Oscar , While Lagaan was successful in the shortlist for Oscar,And both these films could not be done.
