The author of It Ends With Us is Colleen Hoover, and she is addressing the matter of her recent cancer diagnosis.
The 46-year author informed her 1.9 million Instagram followers that she has a day left of radiation at Texas Oncology.
On Monday, she wrote on her Instagram stories with the text: second to last day of radiation. I would like to say the hair and the facial expression spangled me and my face but that has not been the case with @Texas.Oncology. You should never require them, but I strongly recommend them.
It was not obvious at once what type of cancer Colleen Hoover is receiving therapy on and how long she is receiving therapy but her health update comes since she disclosed the diagnosis last week.
On Friday, Colleen Hoover posted some information about her cancer treatment in a Facebook post, which stated, I had geneticist results of toxicology that I got today telling me that my cancer was not a family genetic result.
It was also not due to the two primary causes of the cancer, namely, HPV and excessive hormones. This implies that it was most certainly environmental/life style or climate of lack of physical activity, poor nutrition and stress that she wrote.

The best-selling writer mentioned that she is both happy and grateful to be alive.
“But I hate vegetables. I detest being forced out of the sofa. I hate sweating. I despise science whenever it is correct, I thought. You can see me in the gym, and do not even mention good job to me. Should you happen to find me in a restaurant where I am taking a grilled chicken and some water, I am likely to be very much mad about that.
This week Colleen Hoover posted to Instagram that the selfie in a hospital gown was there to love Texas Oncology where she was getting treatment and that she has been discussing her diagnosis publicly for a long time.
Her new novel Woman Down – the first one published in seven years – has been released this week.
However, the author noted that her cancer update was not a gimmick to get sympathy-sales on release day.
Colleen Hoover, a mother of three with children who lives in Texas, also said she was undergoing radiation therapy in Dallas on Monday morning and had attended a luncheon at South Carolina bookshop where her new novel was being released overnight.
Although I am not lying about anything, I am a badass, she added.
Other books she has published are It Ends With Us and sold over 20 million copies and turned into a film in 2024.
To a degree, that was clouded by a lawsuit between actor-director Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively who are the co-stars in the movie.
Towards the end of October 2025, Hoover stated that she was unable to attend the premiere of the film adaptation of her book Regretting You because of an unavoidable operation.
“I do not love to have to tell you, but I will not be doing the signing with @lukasgage this month, and I will not be able to attend the premiere or events around the premiere of @regrettingyoumovie. I am really frickin bopless but I am undergoing an unavoidable surgery and cannot travel in the foreseeable future, so on top of that” she wrote.

“I will live vicariously in you guys. It is such a sad shame to miss this movie release and premiere but thankful to everyone involved in the movie as actors and team members.”
Colleen Hoover as an Author
In October, the author posted on Instagram that she would be skipping some of the promotions of her book-to-film adaptation Regretting You, to have an unavoidable surgery to make her not be able to travel in the short term.
The author has not had a lack of time yet. Her latest novel, “Woman Down,” was released on Tuesday, Jan. 13, and concerns the ostensibly meta story of an author who encounters online pressure over a film adaptation of her book, a la, It Ends with Us.
The real life character in the drama is star, Blake Lively who has brought a sexual harassment and retaliation action against director and co-star, Justin Baldoni, and his producing partners, Wayfarer Studios. According to the allegations presented in the December 2024 lawsuit, the director of the It Ends with Us had committed inappropriate sexual behavior both on and off the set and assisted in an orchestrated smear campaign against her.
In one of the November profiles, the author told Elle that she was now embarrassed to say that she wrote the book considering the legal consequences.
This novel is the follow-up to a number of other film adaptations that have been in development: “Regretting You” was released in October, another film, “Reminders of Him” is on its way to the theaters, and a third- “Verity” also has Anne Hathaway in it.
