At the G20 Leaders Summit in Johannesburg, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has suggested four new initiatives with the aim of global development. This involves the establishment of a Global Traditional Knowledge Repository, Africa Skills Multiplier Initiative, Global Healthcare Response Team and finally an Initiative on Countering the Drug-Terror Nexus.
Such efforts will ensure comprehensive growth as he pointed out at the inaugural conference of inclusive and sustainable growth saying that the civilisational values of India provide an answer.
He claimed that the G20 Global Traditional Knowledge Repository would record the traditional wisdom that exemplifies proven examples of sustainable living society and guarantee that it is transmitted to the generations to come.
India has a rich history regarding the same. It will assist us to transfer our collective wisdom to greater good health and wellbeing, the PM said at the summit.
During a three days visit of PM Modi to South Africa, he noted that African development is critical in world development and India has never been left behind in the continent. The Africa Skills Multiplier Initiative will be based on train-the-trainers approach, with the goal of making Africa a hundred million certified trainers come the next decade, he further added.
Our mission is to educate one million qualified trainers in Africa within a period of 10 years. These trainers will also in turn train millions of competent youngsters. The effect of this initiative will be multiplied. The PM informed the G20 leaders that it will result in the development of the capacity locally and the empowering of Africa in the long term.
Alternatively, PM Modi suggested the creation of a G20 Global Healthcare Response Team that will serve in providing a powerful response during the emergence of health problems.
When we try to collectively tackle health crises and natural disasters, we will be stronger. We should strive to build teams of trained medical professionals in other G20 countries who will be deployed promptly in the event of any health crisis or natural catastrophe globally, he pointed out.
Another initiative which he proposed is a G20 Initiative on Countering the Drug-Terror Nexus to beat the problem of drug trafficking and prevent the proliferation of dangerous substances such as fentanyl. As under this initiative, we will be able to unite different tools concern finance, governance, and security. Then only, the drug-terror economy can be diluted, said PM Modi.

He said that G20 Global Healthcare Response Team would be an attempt to form teams of trained medical specialists across G20 countries who can be deployed quickly in the case of an emergency.
We know that we are better when we collaborate during health crises and natural disasters.
He said that global progress depends on Africa.
India has continually been in support of the African continent. I take pride in the fact that this is the period the African Union joined the G20 as a permanent member and this was during the G20 Presidency of India. It is in this spirit that India offers G20-Africa Skills Multiplier Initiative. The aim of our group should be to produce 1 million certified trainers in Africa over the next 10 years he said.
In another speech, the PM mentioned the establishment of a G20 Global Traditional Knowledge Repository. In this respect India has a bright history. This will aid us in transferring our collective wisdom into even greater good health and wellbeing, he said.
