In a strange new frontier, China is at the head of the pack when it comes to making hyperrealistic sex dolls that can now prove to be more sociable than ever. To satisfy this increasing need of men to find both physical and emotional companionship, Chinese factories are churning out the silicone-based dolls that go up to as much as three thousand dollars.
WMDoll is among the leading manufacturers in the country and is anticipating a 30 percent increase in business during the year; part of which has been contributed by men who are failing to find a love partner. According to Liu Jiangxia, CEO of WMDoll, the latter makes the dolls more responsive and interactive, an aspect that gives users a superior experience in an interview to the South China Morning Dost.

The difference between these dolls and their mechanical predecessors, in this case, is their artificial intelligence-enabled MetaBox brain that transmits data to large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT. The reactions of the LLMs then determine the movement, speech and responses of the dolls in real time.
Although such so-called love dolls could be made up of metal skeletons, they consist of silicone, which ensures the skin looks and feels like a person. They are also enabled to control the body temperature and are equipped with touch simulating sensors.
Such dolls can have as many as eight personalities programmed into them and remembered previous conversations and even the doll can also ask emotional questions such as, how was your day? Or are we ok?

The main role of these dolls previously was to fulfill the sexual demand of the users. However, when they entered a more realistic phase physically, our customerso began to demand emotional companionship, Jiangxia said.
Shenzhen Atall Intelligent Robot Technology, another love doll world leader, has disclosed that its greatest number of customers are the middle aged men of Europe and the US. A great number of such men demand lighter skin color and hyperbolic physical characteristics, whereas customers in China are only interested in less dramatic and more moderate features of Asian beauty.
China is the producer of more than 80 percent of sex toys used globally which is considered a six and a half billion dollars industry employing over one million citizens. However, with the technology there are the concerns as the technology grows. According to Chinese feminist Xiao Meili: A lot of men want the same things of the women; sex, house work, delivering children and being a good daughter. They do not consider women as persons. Every nerd has a sex doll of his own, they would release a lot of women of this type of men.”

WMDoll believes that the fact that their dolls can be more expressive makes the difference.
According to the company, the dolls can be made with approximately a staggering eight different personalities to choose among that can carry on a conversation that would have been started a few days previously.
WMDoll also installs AI software into its dolls that serve to stroke the ego of its companion and able to query more about its relationship with him or her as well as about its feelings.
According to the founder Jiangxia, in ancient times, the main role of such dolls was to meet sexual desires of users.
However, when they became more realistic in terms of movements of their neck and joints and the appearance of their skin, our customers began to search in the dolls the sense of emotional companionship.
This saw the company start using AI in its dolls way back in 2016 and the technology continues to grow because of open source AI.

The thermoplastics used in making the dolls are generally warmed to 37c, the human body temperature as the developers claim that the dolls have body sensors that make them realistic as well.
One of its fellow doll makers, Shenzhen Atall Intelligent Robot Technology, said earlier that most of its customers are men aged between 40 to 50 years old Europeans and Americans.
They will allow customers to order personalized artificial-intelligence dolls, sold at about 2,000 a pop, with stretchy, elastomeric rubberneck skin.
The company says that customers in the US like to view dolls with darker color of skin and big breasts, buttocks, and genitals.
As in China the customers would prefer the Asian features.
China has already been estimated to produce about over 80 per cent of all sex toys in the world, with over a million people working in their booming industry of sex toys of 6.6 Billion dollars.
Even Chinese feminist Xiao Meili has opined that certain men may always have archaic expectations of women and the sex housewife robots may be in a position to assist in this regard.
