Burqa On Statue Of Liberty: Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old Democratic socialist has just taken the Democratic mayoral primary in New York City, and MAGA lovers are not amused. Overnight New York governor Andrew Cuomo, admitted defeat and had he been elected then Mamdani would have been the first Indian-American, first Muslim mayor in the history of New York City.
Nonetheless, since he is the Gujarati ancestry Muslim, the far-right social media politicians and users are posting the Islamophobic posts against him. One of them was Marjorie Taylor Greene, the US representative of the 14 th congressional district in Georgia since 2021.
The post features the image of the Statue of Liberty in a black burqa, and it is photoshopped. Don Keith, another supporter of MAGA also shared the picture and wrote, “Congratulations New York”. After 9/11 we would say Never Forget. Oh, I suppose we have forgotten.”
Other than the Republican politicians, the users were quick to comment on the scenario with one user saying, NYC 2001: We will never forget! NYC 2025:The jihadist muslim is elected! THE FUTURE of NYC in 2040: Follow Sharia Law or out! To be converted to Islam or die!”, and another one saying, “The stupidity of NYC to vote in their own death!”.
Although the Jihadist could have won the primary as the Democrat candidate, that does not necessarily imply that he is going to be mayor! However, GOOD luck to him, in case he is actually successful, CURSE to all those fools who wanted to choose the destruction of their own home town by a blind ballot!
Mamdani has aired his disapproval around the immigration policies of the US president Donald Trump, and he has castigated billionaire money-bags that funded Cuomo. He has also criticized the Israeli war on Gaza and termed the experience as a genocide but made it clear that he is not an anti-semitic.
In response to his victory, Trump posted on Truth Social, That is so, the democrats have crossed the line. Zohran Mamdani, a full blown 100 % Communist lunatic, has just won the Dem Primary and is well on his way to becoming Mayor.
He continued, He continued, We have had Radical Lefties in the past but this is now reaching a tad too far. His appearance is AWFUL, he screams, he is not very bright, he has AOC+3, Dummies ALL, on his side and even our wonderful Senate Palestinian, Cryin Chuck Schumer is crawling over him. It is a great occasion in the History of our Country yes!”

In his Democratic party debate, Mamdani hit back directly at Trump and stated, “I am the worst nightmare that Donald Trump could ever have, because I am a progressive, a Muslim immigrant, the man who actually fights the things I believe in.”
Still, remarkable is the fact that the initial plans of the statue of the Liberty were based on the original sketches of a sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi of veiled Egyptian girls. Nowadays, everyone knows that the statue is a present of France to the United States because of their friendship in the American and French revolutions.
The original idea of the statue was that of a peasant who wore clothes of the traditional arab attire-The Muslim woman, with a lantern to the hands as a symbol of progression. But when this proposal was declined by the Egyptian government he developed the original idea further and redesigned the model to be a classical Roman goddess and presented this to the United States directly which is currently the Statue of liberty.
Further on the Statue of Liberty
The Statue of liberty is a sculpture in the memory of freedom and democracy, which was presented to the United States in 1886 by France as a gift to its near and dear friend to mark a century of freedom and the friendship between the two countries.

The statue was constructed on the Liberty Island in New York harbor with its metal skeleton made by French engineer Gustave Eiffel and design by French sculptor Frdric Auguste Bartholdi. It is now regarded as a harbor of hope and prospect especially by the immigrants who entered New York via sea and eventually became one of the iconic skyscrapers of New York.
Not many people however know that the Statue of liberty was initially supposed to be a Muslim woman. The statue was considered to be “originally designed to be a female Egyptian peasant, a Colossus of Rhodes to the Industrial Age.” (report, Smithsonian magazine).
Lady liberty is nowadays remembered as a French gift to the United States to show gratitude to them because they fought against France and France fought against England in their time of revolution, but at first conception, lady liberty was rather different. The statue began as an image of a Muslim woman, an ordinary peasant, dressed in the customary Arab garb, who was holding a lantern above her head, a lighthouse and an image of progress.

This less popular source starts by indicating the French sculptor who came up with the design of the statue, Frdric-Auguste Bartholdi. Travelling to Egypt in the middle of the 19 th century, Bartholdi was amazed by the pomp of ancient architecture and the statues at Abu Simbel in particular. The gigantic statues made him fascinated with huge projects of art and he fantasized about a giant sculpture to celebrate the entrance to the new Suez Canal.
Bartholdi presented the idea of the statue Egypt Carrying the Light to Asia, the image of a veiled Muslim woman as the symbol of enlightenment and progress. The statue was to be 86 feet high on top of a base of 48 feet. Being in the form of a weighed-down peasant woman, as Barry Moreno, historian and several books author on the statue, noted, the form was meant to reflect the modern hopes of Egypt.
Yet, Egyptian government did not agree with this proposal by Bartholdi. Not daunted here he turned to face the west. Several years later he repeated the scheme but this time using a classical Roman goddess instead of the Arab peasant, and presented it to the United States. A modified version of this later became the Statue of Liberty and was erected within New York Harbor in 1886 where it has stood ever since providing one of the classic American images of American ideology.
