The Victims Of Bengaluru Stampede: 3 Teenagers, Youngest 14, All Under 40

All those who died in the stampede at Chinnaswamy Stadium were less than 40 and the youngest victim was a 14-year-old. Out of the deceased are three teenagers and six individuals who were between 20 and 30 years old.

Most people watched the game with friends to cheer the Royal Challengers Bangalore, who won the IPL trophy after waiting for 18 years. There were many participants from Bengaluru and a few came from other districts. The event that started full of enthusiasm resulted in disaster when the overwhelming number of people put too much pressure on the security team, resulting in a stampede. There were 11 deaths and 47 people injured from the incident.

Detectives found out that Divyanshi (14), Doresha (32), Bhoomik (20), Sahana (25), Akshata (27), Manoj (33), Shravan (20), Devi (29), Shivalinga (17) and Chinmayi (19) and Prajwal (20) were the victims.

The main reasons for the tragedy were quick preparations, inadequate planning and a large number of fans turning up at once. Problems with the reception have been brought up due to the fact that at the Vidhana Soudha, Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar honored the group.

With VIPs participating at Vidhana Soudha and many at the Chinnaswamy stadium, there was a huge challenge of sending lots of police officers to the Assembly area. As a result, the small number of cops was in charge of managing lakhs of fans at the Chinnaswamy stadium. 35,000 is the maximum capacity of the stadium and over 3 lakh fans were present.

In fact, the police of Bengaluru called the parade off, saying there were many security issues to consider. However, the Cricket Association in Karnataka and the people involved decided to act regardless. Though warnings and advisories were issued, at 3.14 pm RCB made an announcement about their victory parade and said tickets would be free.

Because fans were eager to attend, the stadium was crowded with many people and there was no clear guidance on who could come in. When students heard the information was on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis, it led to total chaos. Some individuals tried to go over the gates and others tried to shove barricades. Security teams had trouble handling the situation which made some people trip and fall.

Facing criticism over the lack of readiness, Siddaramaiah, the Chief Minster, held a press conference and assured people that help would be available to the loved ones of those who died and free treatment would be given to the injured victims.

All sorts of these incidents took place in numerous places. I am not going to use excuses such as pointing out that it has happened in several countries. While around 50-60 people passed away at Kumbh Mela, I still didn’t take the opportunity to criticise it. But if Congress speaks out, this is a different situation. Was I or the Karnataka government involved in criticizing processions or celebrations?” he asked.

BJP veteran Pralhad Joshi spoke out against the statement made by the opposition leader. Mr Joshi commented that the state government should not blame others because it bears responsibility in this case. There is nothing like the Kumbh festival. Why did you refuse to stop moving forward even when the police refused your request? My next question for Siddaramaiah is, did you keep on celebrating after so many people lost their lives? What made Deputy Chief Minister (DK Shivakumar) decide to receive them personally? They care more about their selfies than about recent events affecting the general public.

He declared that the way the Kumbh mishap was handled was sensitive. People hardly ever stopped to take selfies. Officials must perform a judicial investigation. NGOs can expect a response from the government. It is clearly wrong and should not be tolerated by the government, as said by Mr Joshi.

Case Filed Against RCB, Karnataka Cricket Body Over Bengaluru Stampede Deaths

The police in Bengaluru have decided on their own to investigate RCB, the state cricket board and DNA Entertainment for the stampede on Wednesday that led to 11 deaths and many injuries. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s IPL triumph was celebrated by DNA Entertainment, though the whole event was organised by the Karnataka State Cricket Association with support from the state government.

The state cabinet had a meeting today to raise the issue of whether the case should go to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). They further decided to assess the events that occurred, how the KSCA, RCB and the event management company handled the situation and what prime reason caused the stampede. Officials who made mistakes that resulted in the deathly outcome would be disciplined.

Five sections of the BNS have been applied to the police case such as Section 105 which centers on culpable homicide.

According to the findings, KSCA, DNA Networks and RCB franchise did not wait for permission and started preparing the event on time. The investigation found that they still did not meet the event needs and crowd control requirements which had been reported by the police earlier. The team’s social media account talked about free stadium access many times, encouraging people to come, it added.

According to research, due to the police’s maximum effort, a much bigger disaster was stopped.

Apart from looking into the FIR, the officer leading the investigation, district magistrate G Jagadeesha, has announced that notices will be sent to the KSCA, Bengaluru Metro and the RCB team.

Today, Mr Jagadeesha went to Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru and reviewed the areas where people began crowding before the stampede.

Mr Jagadeesha informed reporters that he started working on the case as soon as he received the file.

The state government has to receive the report within 15 days of the incident.

He stated that he will examine recordings from CCTV systems and other images from that place on the day of the incident and will ask for statements by families of injured or deceased.

People living in the area can come and offer their statements between 10.30 am and 1.30 pm on June 13, according to the district magistrate. He noted that those policemen who were in charge of security during the RCB’s IPL celebration would be listed and their statements would be requested.

The state’s Home Minister G Parameshwara declared today that it was not the government of Karnataka that wanted to organize the victory celebrations in Bengaluru.

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru franchise and the Karnataka State Cricket Association were not approached by us in this matter. Mr Parameshwara informed reporters that they structured the entire event to honour Sindhu’s win. It was seen as important for the government to congratulate the players and be involved in the celebration since the team came from Bengaluru. That’s all.”

The home minister of the state explained that the KSCA and RCB arranged for the team to travel to Bengaluru for the celebrations.

The Social Media Post That Got RCB Into Legal Trouble After Bengaluru Stampede That Killed 11

Happiness over Bengaluru’s IPL success changed into tragedy when 11 people died in a stampede after the victory parade on Wednesday. Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and the other RCB members were happily greeted by Siddaramaiah at Vidhan Soudha before an open bus parade started around 5 PM. A huge crowd gathered at the area set for the demonstration. The incident became a tragedy with 11 people dying and around 50 more getting injured.

At this time, a post made by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) is being examined. RCB’s management is now being checked by officials over a social media post, made just before the stampede at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, that claimed at least 11 lives and left 47 injured. In addition, some high-ranking members of KSCA are connected to the probe, since their involvement in organizing the ceremony is being investigated by both officer and magisterial panels.

RCB posted on its X (Twitter-like) account at 3:14 pm on June 4, indicating that a parade for victory would begin at the Vidhana Soudha at 5 pm, leading to the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Inside the stadium, the event will finish with a felicitation ceremony. It had a link for free entry, informed readers that spaces were limited and asked everyone to follow the police’s guidelines.
