A 15-year-old girl was reported as being gang-raped by two brothers in Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha and then the two brothers tried to bury her alive after she conceived after five months.
The police have detained the two brothers whose names are Bhagyadhar Das and Panchanan Das of Banashbara village and a third suspect (Tulu) is lost. Police officials have gone on manhunt.
The police claim that the suspect raped the girl repeatedly over a longtime. At the time they found out that she is pregnant, they purportedly tried to bury her alive in order to cover their actions. The accused has been accused of paying and facilitating an abortion according to the police sources. They invited the survivor to some place and she did that.

When she got there, she realised that there was a hole that was dug on the ground. The accused then went on to intimidate her, that in case she did not carry out the abortion she was going to be buried in the ditch alive.
The survivor was able to get away with the accused and told her about the incident to her father. She was medically examined in District Headquarters Hospital, and a case was recorded when a formal complaint had been filed by her father in Kujang Police Station.
The two suspects who have been arrested have appeared before the court and investigations are still taking place.
It is the second incident of sexual violence in Jagatsinghpur in this week alone. Two men raped another minor in farmland after she was allegedly picked by the duo on a Monday in farmland, as she was going back home after attending a birthday party. The victim who was nursing severed wounds was rushed to hospital.
Such an incidence was reported in Malkangiri district on Sunday. Three men kidnapped a minor girl and raped her off. She escaped their hands, and was raped by a truck-driver, whom she met on her way home.

These rapes were reported at least in 12 incidences that occurred in a span of a month in the entire state. Five rape and gang-rape cases were reported in the state in the month June this year within the 10-days period.
In early March this year, a 20-year-old student in Fakir Mohan Autonomous College in Balasore was set alight and died after she burned herself allegedly over an action taken by the college to reject her complaint against a fellow teacher of sexual harassment.
On Sunday, a 15-year-old girl in the Nimapada block of Puri was burned by unidentified attackers and transferred to AIIMS in New Delhi by air plane to get treatment.
The accused arranged an abortion which was to be paid and helped by him, Tirtol sub divisional police officer, Chinmay Raut said. They baited her into a place where they had already dug a hole and threatened to bury her alive in case she would not go to have an abortion. In some way, the survivor managed to run away, and she described the incident to her father, Raut said.
Then as per medical checkup had been done at district headquarters hospital and case had been registered at Kujang police station on the basis of complaint made by her father said Tirtol SDPO Chinmay Raut.
The third suspect is on the search.
In the FIR, her father has further stated that he had first approached a local person associated with the panchayat, on the matter but the concerned person has promised him money to keep the incident under wraps and also threatened the father in case he approached the police on the matter.
In the meantime, in Balasore district, the police detained four men, who supposedly tried to kill a 20-age woman, failing to rape her at the time she had gone to take bath in a pond. The four had followed the woman to the village pond and raped her on Thursday, reports said.
The suspects also attempted to rape the woman and banged her head against a stone for protesting. She, however, managed to escape and told her family about the incident.
