Woman Kills Foster Son: A woman from Indiana earned six years behind bars for ending her 10-year-old son’s life by using her own body mass. At 154 kg in weight Jennifer Lee Wilson squeezed Dakota Levi Stevens to death last April after he misbehaved. She admitted her guilt in October by admitting she sat on the child for five minutes.
The court ordered Senior Judge Michael Bergerson to send Ms Wilson to a state correctional facility for six years. The Times of Northwest Indiana reports that a judge suspended the final year of Wilson’s punishment and instead allowed probation for her remaining year of the sentence.

Ms Wilson told police Stevens threw himself down at home before she sat on his stomach and called his caseworker. She got on top of him for five minutes until his body ceased all movement. She dismissed his words as dishonest.
The documents showed Wilson reported she struggled to stop Dakota from leaving, but she couldn’t remember whether she pushed him to the ground or if they impacted the floor due to her efforts at restraint.
Police officers responded to Ms Wilson’s Valparaiso, Porter County home to find Stevens had no breath and his heart had stopped beating. Their search revealed signs of injury across Stevens’ bottom neck and torso.
Medical staff rushed Stevens to South Bend with severe trauma after the incident. The doctors determined he died from strangulation two days after he arrived at the hospital.

A neighbour told police that 30 minutes before the incident, Stevens ran to her house and asked if she could adopt him. According to documents, he was allegedly struck in the face and was prevented from calling his case worker by his foster parents.
